allmost lost her "fire"

shiat man"Thurs 1pm " i just loaded up my ute with furniture to take to my shop and 30 meters down the road the i lost power , i looked side ways at a bunch of guys waving "mate your cars on fire " AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
where my fire extingusher jumped out called fire brigade got her out before they came "two mins " with the help of a guy in a cement truck and his water hose "no pun intended" rang Steve at kombi rescue he said get her here and ill look at her . pushed her back to the warehouse ,had a look "fuel line popped off the fuel pump and ignited ,luckily not to bad, melted plastic cover on furniture above motor area burnt all leads wires etc etc got her towed to steves friday 11am
got her back friday night ,complete with all extra adjustments done "new accelerater cable adj hand brake ,brakes etc WHAT A LEGEND IM A VERY HAPPY MAN >THANX STEVE ..Brendon

are there hose clamps on the fuel hoses?

this is a common mistake...some people don't think VWs need them, one workshop who I won't (read can't) name even taken them off...IDIOTS!!!!:cussing

Go check ya motor right now and put them on if they're missing.

Oh no, thats real lucky you save it in time!!! The same thing happen to my kombi but luckily it didnt ignite, was still scary, and i had clamps of the fuel hoses but one broke.. Not fun

sometimes the actually rod comes out of the pump spewing fuel everywhere !

Most times the metal fuel line seperates from the pump as it is a press fit. But always have the hose clamps on anyway! :thumb
