Close call..

Finally - my bug is looking after me!

I was driving her for not more than 5 mins and as I was idling at the lights, the oil light came on. Usually the light does come on when it's warm, but 5 mins isn't enough to make the engine hot. So I pulled over into the BURVALE (oh what a great place!) carpark expecting to be missing a rocker cover (it's happened to me before), but all i could see was a small puddle of petrol under my engine. So started her back up and it started pumping out from the the hose clamp that feeds the float chamber! One twist of the screw driver was all that was needed to stop the leak!

Funny thing is, the last time I drove it was a week ago to Baccus Marsh (a bit over an hours drive) and nothing happened! I'm pretty relieved that no fires started from the fuel possibly dripping onto the exhaust!

CHECK YA HOSES PPL! and carry that extinguisher!

Still don't know how the oil light came on... fuel grounding the switch & turning it on perhaps?

ooooo yeh! Black Spur is a great drive! Up past Belgrave is good too - problem is, I can't remember how to get there exactly! An Apollo Bay Cruise would be wicked too - not many hills so even 40HP slackers like me can keep up!
