Harvey Bay QLD - on the up or on the down
crewcabconnection - November 13th, 2005 at 08:38 PM

Dunno if there are any of ya up there. Thinking about buying a house around Harvey Bay area - is it a growth area or backwater going no where????

Want to live not too far from the sea or shops...any locations I should look at on RealEstate.com better than others?

Thanks

just recently spent the scholl holidays there nice place but prices starting to move.
They say that a 100 people per week are moving to Qld.
Also noticed no flies or mozzies.
Another person at work just came back and said the same thing.
Living near the Murray river our mozzies are big basta...s
Coming back via the Pacific Highway towards Coffs lost count of the VW's especially Kombis.
If i could only sell the place would head straight to QLD

oops meant to say over a thousand people a week moving too QLD.
Not to sure how many come back.
Lots of people from here move to Mackay for some reason.

Beuatiful place to visit with the kids
Nice and quiet

it is a really nice place. Very quiet, but heaps of good services for a smallish city. The beach is nice for kids, no waves, and it is really close to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island and even up Bundaberg which has a couple of nice beaches. Lots of new development up there, but there is also a lot of retirees. Anyways. Hope that helped and that is only my opinion as i grew up not far from there. Good luck.

I personally prefer historic Maryborough; about 20 min inland....
but then, I'm a sucker for the old Qld'er cottages.
Hervey Bay is a boom-town.

Currently doing some work in hervey bay. I will say a whole lot of it goes under in big rain events, so pick your property carefully....

I did some work on a development up that way, buy something established. I think one of the lakes will go dry!!! (not my fault, we came in to fix it!)

Know a few ppl who come from up there. They say, happy to be in brissy, but then they are in early 20's so maybe not the lifestyle for that age person.... ? Depends on what you are after i suppose.
