rhys
p.s. not very comp illiterate how do u do that?

mhbourke - March 23rd, 2003 at 07:31 PM

hi rhys just go into your control panel and check what your monitor is set to some games change these settings and you have to reset them.failing that try and load default settings.you should be able to do this when rebooting (be quick) there is a message saying press to enter setup"so and so"button or buttons. these all vary from program to program and mother board to mother board.once into setup there should be a menu to lrestore to last setup or as was said safe mode:sandrine

when you first boot you should be able to hit "F1" or some other key and this gets you to "safe" mode.
Safe mode is a basic mode that cant run anything fancy ie 16 colour only etc.

You can at least get there and set up a basic run and then re boot it in "normal" ie dont hit "F1"

Start your computer as normal and wait until you see the POST. (this is where you see numbers ticking over on top left hand of screen). Your computer then goes and looks for your disk drives and this is when you should hear a beep. This is when you press the F8 key on your keyboard. Now select safe mode.

or you could try this

Boot until you come to your desktop. Right click your mouse button on any blank area on your screen then click on "Properties" then click on the "Settings" tab. now change the tab settings to 600 x 800 and then click on OK. You will most likely get a message " Do you want to restart your computer" click on "Yes"
