Rear LHS bolt on that goes from the suspension, top shock mount point has rounded off when i tried to undo it, now it wont budge one bit, any ideas that are non distructive... and yes wd40 was used to turn it, weird thing is it turned a few times then the socket just ripped straight off and its almost totally round, tried using the next smallest socket to no avail aswell, any ideas????

heat is your best bet ,oxy acet the best weapon you can concentrate the heat where you need it and not do any damage to the surrounding area .heat it then use multi grips ,o r vice grips plumbers footprints are also very good

clean the end and use a pipe spanner to get it off. then replace it

Sounds like it's time to budget for some real tools. Crap tools will cost you more in both time and money than the savings made relative to good quality. 'Sidchrome', for example, make good socket sets (my 30-year old Sidchrome 1/2"" drive ratchet has never failed one click, despite being abused). So does 'Snap On'. If you ask on this forum, I'm sure you'll get good recommendations for tools which won't break and won't break things in the process. Start a survey...

hey i didnt want my incident to be public knowledge thanks, got the bolt out, good old belt it up with a chisel and a hammer to get it turning, after that bit chipped off a smaller socket was bashed on it then it came out extremly easily now i just have a big rusty bolt in a nice shiny socket, but alas then the thumb incident happened, wont go into details tho, shall leave it to everyones imaginations
