Accounting Softwre for a VW Shop ??
Brad - December 20th, 2005 at 08:32 PM

As any of you would know that have been to Custom Offroad our paperwork skills and bookwork habbits have turned my book keeper to drink and abuse me on more than one occasion

So the time has come to upgrade to a computer based system.

I am looking at MYOB currently but just thought I would ask what people think who use something similiar.

Cheers.

QuickBooks works well, MYOB might have lots of stuff you don't need. Basically though, it will make stuff all dif what you buy unless the humans commit to using it in an agreed way. the software itself won't solve problems ... lol ... get onto yer local gov office for small business development, they should be able to help and fund it to some degree ... the software and the training.....get Jonney to buy it.

Purchase isn't an issue and neither is training. It is more a question of how people who use stuff view it.

I am well aware of what is out there but as I have never been an end user I don't really have a clue in that area.

So you use quick books ? Do you find it time consuming ?

MYOB all the way, by far the simplest to use. and because it is so widespread you can ask joe on the street and he could probably help you out with anything you need to know.

i use it for accounting, inventory, purchases, sales, wages, blah blah blah... im an 18 year old straight out of high school and using myob i'm making sure two small businesses are getting paid... too easy.

barls - December 30th, 2005 at 09:14 PM

try having a 14 month argument about the program and then upgrading and still having the same problem

hipichic - December 30th, 2005 at 10:30 PM

I applied for a job on the myob help desk and they didn't hire me.....they told me I was OVERqualified..... Ya can only hire monkeys if you pay peanuts eh!

Go see your Tax accountant. Most of them use one or another program but difinitey not myob. You do a disk once a month and he does all the work (bas and gst etc) Job cards, invoicing and stock is easy, just depnds how or who sets it up
