My rare find, I couldn't believe my luck

Hi all,
A few weeks ago I drove my T3 Square to the hardware store to pick up a few things and as i walked in the lady behing the counter commented on my car and how low it was and that her husband would've loved it when he was alive. She also went on to tell me about various kombi's and beetles with porsche wheels and ghias that they have owned over the past. She was really nice and we talked about them for 15 mins while walking around the store getting what I need.

Then she told me that when he died he told her to sell certain things and keep certain things in a cabinet he had and sell them in the future but said the only thing she has left was a 'little set of tail lights' and my ears perked up. I said taillights, what do they look like? She said her hesband said they were quite rare and they have a love heart shaped light on the top. I was breathless. Who would think you could find a set of heartlights in a Mitre10. Anyway I asked if she would sell them and asked my how much and I told her a fair amount and she agreed and brough them in. They are spotless. The chrome ring around the glass is a bit rusty but will clean up fine. The lenses are clean and not marked, the housings are completely rust free and the internals are also rust free and even still have the globes. Aparently they have been in the same cabinet for over 15 years. They even have tiny VW logos on the bottom of them where my other set doesn't.

Now all I am looking for is a 54 bonnet and i have 2 complete cars with correct everything. If anyone has one or any leads on one please let me know.

Cheers
T54

I always like to hear of serendipity. Well done. That's a great example of what The Princes of Serendip were about.
