Just in case anyone else is feeling the wrath of the rust lurgie, just remember what the poms are willing to resurrect:

hey ruckus i was looking at this one on ssvc the other day, the poms have
commitment you have to give them that.
of late ive read about stuff being taken to wreckers or used as donors that
are not even halve as bad as some of the restos over there.

Whoooaa! I thought scraping an entire bucketfull out of mine was bad.
and how about this French guys' schwimmwagen resto..
http://www.vw166.com/restorations/a_restoration4.htm
shit how can you tell
buzzbox you win
just had a look at the site now thats amazing & by the looks of the stuff under
tarps he,s into army stuff can see a kubel & flatbed truck from ww2 plus
whatever else covered up.
Yeah, but it's a schwimmwagen!
Those Brits are taking on far more common vw's..now that's true love.
Having said that, tho.. If that guy's ever down my way, I'll buy him a beer:beer
that's nuts! :duh
anyone else would just sigh and send it to the tip, it's not a resto, it's a recreation...
If you look in the background you can see the wheel barrows full of money too, and a little further back a little man burning each bill one at a time!

But then I have to ask myself, would I do the same, and the answer is probably yes. :o

What a resto, unreal dedication and workmanship. Wish I could fabricate like that and had the tools to do it. Endless possibilities!

I have a great picture on another pomme kombi site where the guy must have spent 2.5k dollars on the parts for a bay. its the bottom 12 inches all
round and a front sub frame second hand.
He did give up in the end but goes to show.
its the norm to have to do heater channels on bugs, i have done 5 1/2 now.
I actually miss my welder ;-)
have you got a link you can post on that one, Beerboy?
