What is the average price for a beetle service?
kara&herkombi - January 18th, 2006 at 09:28 AM

Hi guys,
I had my beetle serviced a few weeks ago.. Got the normal stuff done like change of oil, lube service, engine tune and adjust tappets, spark plugs, fuel filter, and point set.... how much would you expect to pay for this kind of service??? Everybody i have talked to say that i am paying too much?? ... Plus it has already started to backfire and stop at the lights.. ???

I pay something like an average of $90 for a small service and $190 for a big one. It has varied a bit depending on what parts were needed.. though I've never had any problems after having it serviced...

take it back to the mechanic and tell them what its doing if it was only recently serviced then they are obligated to fix it.

how much did u pay?

u can do all that stuff yourself without too much trouble.
for the cost of a grease gun, new oil, spark plugs, fuel filter and a workshop manual to tell u how. do you have the idiots guide?

I just had a BIG service done, was over $200.00 but my car is great! :D

$90 for a lube service and $190 for a service, tune and brake service is average.

The price would naturally be higher if you get any parts other than oils & filters.

id say about 90 bucks for what you got but thats just a guess. if its back firing you should take it back and ask whats the go with it as you have just had it done

I hope it's someone that knows VWs! Many a VW has been wrecked by a "normal" mechanic.

i pay upwards of 200 for my work, but that includes a lot more than you are getting. oil, brakes, balance, tappets, handbrake. everything is checked top to bottom. alwasy runs a treat afterwards
