Just a quick note ... having bought my T3 a few months back, was a bit iffy about it start with. Just did local runs. Now just back from 4,000ks down
from Sydney and around Tassie with no worries and a major smile.
3 kids, 2 spaniels, wife and all the gear that you can fit in the back, running the air con and sitting on 100ks all day long with no problems and in
comfort.
Time to get it serviced I guess, but for anyone thinking 'is a T3 a good idea?' - then my vote is yeah, not sure I'd have been more comfortable if
I'd have blown 40k on a T4 and done the same trip. Funny how you see people flash past you only to see them at the next watering hole anyway - so I
fugure the perceptual lack of grunt really pans out on a long run.
Next trip - Harvey Bay at Easter, can't wait....
Sounds great, We just got back from a trip up to Yamba in my wifes '89, same story, 2 adults, 3 kids, all our stuff, air conditioning on the whole
way, we sat on 100 -110 ks, no worries, 1800k's round trip.
They are just so nice to drive on a long trip. I think you can fit a lot more stuff in a T3 bus than a T4.
Just go t back from a trip to Mallacoota from Sydney.
Did 2k kms.
Mines and air cooled - so we sat on 90-100kms. (well 40kms going up some of the bigger hills )
But yes - we enjoy it.
me the wife 3 teen age boys and a fair sized dog.
Try fitting that in a Falcon
very impressive, i was very impressed with my little 72 type3 the other day. 900km in 10-11 hours up the coast to NSW, then the same distance on the way back 8 days later, in near - 40deg sitting on 100kph most all the way. very happy with that for an aircooled 1600
