A friend of mine has recently acquired a Manx. It was registered some time ago and the paper work is somewhere. Is their a website or magazine that can help him with some info?

As far as Manxs go, there are plates on some of them if they are original, but plenty didn't come with the plates. Email the Manx dune buggy club and they may be able to help.

BTW, unless, he has an original engine number and/or plate numbers that was with the car when it was last regoed, he's gonna have to re-register as a newly registered vehicle. If he does have the original engine number and/or plate numbers, he can do a past registration search with the NSW RTA. It costs about $30. Often an old picture of the vehicle in it's hey day can help to find the old plate numbers. Once he finds it's previous rego, he can just re-register it like it was last time, providing of course that it was properly regoed as a buggy.

Try the world wide Manx Dune Buggy Club, based in California on http://www.manxclub.com  and the Australian chapter on http://www.manxclub.org 

There he can find out if it is an original Meyers Manx, a Meyers Manx clone or a copy or something else based on the idea of the Manx.

Try to get the original rego plates and papers as you might have a serious problem of re-rego otherwise.
