another request for wedding cars
misskaleidoscopeeyes - February 15th, 2006 at 09:01 AM

Hi all,

Just after some help with some wedding cars for my wedding on 29 April. I live in Brissie and will be getting married on the beach at redcliffe followed by a reception at Albany creek. I would use my Kombi but she is still a work in progress and currently garaged :(

Am really hoping for one or two Kombi's. Happy to pay the going rate, what is the going rate for things like this anyway?

anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know via this post or email me at princesskelstar@yahoo.com.au

Thanks for your time
:P

I would expect to pay about $200 - $300 depending upon how long yuo want the car and how far the owner has to travel.

Hey Kelly, Going rate is $50.00 per hour and some members at http://www.kombiclub.com  may be interested as there is a post there for someone else looking which I've posted in the Off Topic Section.
Possibility I'd be interested to help out - I'm @ Bracken Ridge. If you get VWMA then my Kombi is featured in the May 2005 Edition "Bay Watch".
cheers Bert

should be free if you ask me!

Schmoburger - February 15th, 2006 at 09:57 PM

Yep, if I lived closer to Brisvegas I'd happily do it for free for a fellow dubber :tu:

come on guys... show some of that generosity that makes us dubbers an awsome bunch of all-round nice guys! :P :beer

you guys say that now.maybe you have probably never done it.
let alone been asked over and over and end up doing many so far and more coming... how much free time do you have, and your fuel and maintanence cost must be low also hey!

Fossil - February 20th, 2006 at 09:00 AM

Kelly - you can call me on 0419 660 898 re this to discuss if you want

misskaleidoscopeeyes - February 20th, 2006 at 09:06 AM

I have to tell you that i would never expect someone to do this for free. When you think about the fuel and running costs as well as the time spent for doing something like this I would be inconsiderate not to offer some financial incentive for it. I have a friend who owns a nice Mustang, and he said the running costs were quite high and the amount of time spent in getting the car looking great for the day was intensive.

Schmoburger - February 20th, 2006 at 09:58 AM

Hehe.. I spit andf shine mine every day anyway LOL, so the looking great bit wouldnt be a concern of mine... I put all the effort in slaveishly to keep it nice regardless of whether it's going to a wedding! :P

Maybe I'd ask one to pay the price of gas, but that's about it.... altho I wouldnt make it a habit of humering every single person who wanted a kombi at there wedding, needless to say....

Anywys.. hope you find one

Schmoburger - February 20th, 2006 at 09:59 AM

Oh god... how did I manage to spell humouring that badly??? :duh

misskaleidoscopeeyes - February 20th, 2006 at 12:25 PM

Thanks Bert, i am just wondering how many yours seats?
i am really hoping to get away wiht only one for about 7 of us. i will endeavour to call you by the end of the week. Thanks.

Fossil - February 20th, 2006 at 12:29 PM

hi Kelly -It is a Type 224 which used to seat 8 but the middle seat has been removed as part of the resto it undertook and so now only has the rear seat for 3, driver and front passenger

Fossil - February 20th, 2006 at 12:30 PM

Well penned two guns - I decided to stay right out of it as I was simply answering the question

misskaleidoscopeeyes - February 20th, 2006 at 12:35 PM

ok Bert, i will keep you in mind, but for now i would like to keep my options open for something with additional seating. I tell you though, your van is very impressive, so i will chat to my family and see what they think we should do. Thanks again for your time.

thats how mine is set. a front bench and a rear bench. for weddings and formals it is perfect (and wine tours with the friends too!). the bridesmaids and or bride gets plenty of room, and during the after wedding photo shoot, there is plenty of room for the esky with the champagne and crownies. :thumb

misskaleidoscopeeyes - February 23rd, 2006 at 03:42 PM

can anyone please help with this?

vwrallycar - February 24th, 2006 at 07:18 PM

i have used my vw for a mates wedding, i have also used my falcon for a friends wedding and never once would i ask for any money nor gift, and will do it again for free.
if you are a true dubber helping out a fellow dubber then i reckon its done for free.
anyway its a great way to show off my cars!!!!
my 2 cents worth

karmen - February 24th, 2006 at 09:45 PM

I'm gettin married again just so u can drive me for free

vwrallycar...and we can meet at last

well bein a country dubber Andrew we do not know of traffic snarls and traffic lights and it may take an hour or 2 at the most.

while in Bris etc it could be 4 hrs ?

money in the suncorp btw Andrew
