54 month - can someone ID it for me

Hi,
I cant find my book with the id numbers in it, could someone id this for me.

- Floorpan 1-764 112
- Engine 1- 923 171

According to John Muir of the Idiot's Guide. I assume your car is a type 1.

Floorpan 1-764-112 Nov/Dec 1957

Engine 1-923-171 1954

No its not a 57 because the Chassis number has a 1- in it

its really VW number 764 112 or just over 3/4 millionth VW produced.

when VW reach the one millionth they dropped the - between the 1 which stood for Type 1 and the actual number for the chassis

I would say its late 54 or early 55 say Dec to around Feb

My June 56 Oval is 1227636 7 digits or just under 1.25 million

I know its a 54/55 at it has all signature bits like wide mount decklid, clunker doors, seats heart light and all other giveaways. I am just trying to work out the month. Thanks for the feedback,

You can send to German someone has the address on here i think u have to post a letter off.

I did it about 25 years ago when it was free. They sent back a nice letter on crumple paper ( that fancy stuff ) telling me the car was built on 26th Jun 1956 and the engine number was ???????? car colour was blue and it went to the docks for Export

SO if u dont want to pay then it sounds like a Dec to Feb edition, dont know if you can do by Email nowdays
