I am on the hunt for a late bug as a daily. Have seen a rather nice looking bug for sale, but the owner claims that it is a rare import from Germany. A 1971 1302 Luxury sports. Has anyone heard of this? Is this guy dreaming?
i seem to remember somewhere i read that there was a sports version super made. it had sportyier seats and a sports steeringwheel and a couple of
other things ive forgotten. i also know we didnt get em in oz.
so he might not be pulling your leg. ill see if i can find some info.

sori i dont have a bigger pic.
That would be great. Thanks! The car looks great and I wouldn't mind it at all. The one thing that made me think that it was a bit weird was that he mentioned that it had "rare opening back windows" which were plain and simple pop outs. It is also a little exy for a car without a RWC. Happy to pay that amount of money without a doubt would just like the piece of paper which helps me to get it registered without too much hassle
but we're experts at it now... lol
ha ha rare opening back windows.
i think they advertised those in playboy or similar mag back in the day towards the end of the superbugs life?
Hmmmmmmm ??????? It looks nothing like the bug in the pic! The bug for sale is a 71 so it doesn't have the elephant foot lights. It has a padded dash, sliding sunroof (apparently factory fitted ???????) and "performance wheels" (apparently from factory, to me they look like cheap 90's mag wheels !). The story of the car sounds a bit dicey but I can't find anything in that vintage that looks half way decent and is not over $10,000!
um a 71 super should have a flat metal dash.
hahaha.. sounds like this car needs some investigation....
check the vin first.
it could be a later model with earlier super rear fenders with tombstone lights
You can get a europen model called a 1302 sports that would fit in to the year he claims, it would have marathon wheels not alloys, factory fitted
metal sunroof was an optional extra so once again could be right..
the best thing you could do is get some picture of it so we can have a look, it mite be the real deal and "someone" just calls it a luxury
special .
Where i used to live in the uk there was a bloke who had a "JPS special" bug and would go on about how it was as rare as rocking horse shit, no
matter now many times u told him it was a jeans beetle with JPS stickers someone had fitted he would not listen, why? cuz when he bought it the nice
man told him all these things and it cost TWICE as much as other betles he had seen of the same year/style...
steff.........................................
ok just had a brain wave it mite be a super vee which was run from 71 to 77 or the jubilee beetle that was produced when vw hit the 20 million mark
now the jubilee only came in saturn yellow and it did have the padded dash either 1300(1302) or 1600(1302s) and has sprintstar wheels , both are quite
rare and were europen market only so if it is one of these it would be great find over here
I have picture of both models somewhere i will dig them out if it helps....
steff.........................
BEETLE.......LUXURY...............SPORTS
Not in the same sentence.rrrrrrrrrrrrrright this is joke right.........now wheres that camera..behind the mirror....truck across the
road..............hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm
what info have you got on it??? colour? engine size?? etc etc it will help....
steff..................................
Trace....Rod.....there's a nice 1303 Cab in NSW right up your alley. If it's too much, I'll do you part trade on the Oval....
the first of the specials was the 15th million which was made in 72 then there was a few after that. as said before 71 should have a flat metal dash. i also think that this is not what it seems
in europe you could get the padded dash from 71 onwards on some models
steff............................
I thought the LUXURY model was the 8 seater Microbus Deluxe
