Does anyone have an Emp 2 tip GT exhaust on their bug?

How does it sound?

Any performance gains?

How much do they sell for?

Yep - but not the Empi one

I have a original VW one

Check on the Aircooled.net site

I got mine of V Force - bit over a $100.

Anygood.....??.... as good as stock.

I use to have stock with flared tips. This doent sound as good but not bad.
And cheaper than a new muffler and tips.

Was more of an experimant for Richard - but then my stock muffler broke.

I think the Empi ones rust quicker. Robn??? in Qld had one and said their rusted real quick

when u say as good as stock theres no performance gain?

I reckon there is a ever so slight performance gain with flared tips over stock pea shooters and this would be equal to that.

There aint no 5HP gain by adding one of these.

So... they are better than Monza 4 tips and a little down on a Thunderbird semi merged deader set up.

And way down on say a fully merged S&S set up

so in other words theres no use changing my near new stock exhaust for eitherEmpi or OEM VW one?

No

where can i get me one of them?

they would have to flow heaps better than a stock pea shooter exhaust as theyre using the usual 4into1 equal lenght header that most extractors come with.
i had one with a quiet pak muffler and it used to scrape on everything was a real pita specially with 2 in the back seat forget going over speed bumps easily but atleast it flowed and sounded great

Ive got one. I originaly wanted it for clearance reasons(which was a good choice), but on the dyno we found a 2 horsepower gain on my stock 1300. It does seem to pull a bit better through middle of the rev range(every bit helps) but its too frigin loud! I got mine from cip1.com

You could try calling V Force or u2u Alex Holzl

That is what we thought about the flow.... but no real obvious gain.
Yes.... no scraping issues, fits good. Pre heater are usual rubbish, but in sydney i dont really notice any icing problems

thanks guys,
seems like finding a decent exhaust system for a vw is one of these never ending chores
all i want is a system that flows and sounds good but doesnt hang down and has 2 tips in the original cut outs

IS the quality of the header pipes the same as the usual headers you can buy or is the wall thickness a bit light on?

And is the collector (where 4 pipes merge together) above the bottom of the engine?

I am thinking of buying one and cutting the muffler off and making up a custom tuck away system that exits the apron cutouts similar to the CSP system.

Normal tuckaways still have the collector to low for my liking.
Cheers

I ended up getting the Empi system.

Nice bit of kit engine sounds awesome and helps it breath better.

I also chopped the tips for that stock look as i wasnt a fan of it the way it was.:thumb

love the look of those things, my system is getting a bit worn now but flows and sounds so nice, will have to see what it is.
