Fantastic pictures Phil. Thanks.

shaihulud - April 9th, 2006 at 12:50 AM

I don't know about things growing on glass. That old "jail bar" would sure grow on me.

baybuscamperkid - April 9th, 2006 at 11:59 AM

what's the wagon behind the 1/2 cut?

phil - April 9th, 2006 at 12:36 PM

yeah....i had a minor adrenalin rush too
....no..it's a hillman i think

what about this one?

baybuscamperkid - April 9th, 2006 at 02:39 PM

thought it might have been a hillman minx, shame i have no room for more toys. that prro crumpled mess in the last pic looks like another german, a borgward isabella, certainly isnt much left of it. nice pics by the way

Spook - April 9th, 2006 at 06:34 PM

Yeah, it's a hillman. Love to know what the third one is. If it's a Vauxhall I want to know, but I don't think it is.

Let your daughter know that the shearers quarters is now my background. I love photos like that, particularly now I'm back in the city.

thanks fellas....

here's the crumpled one side on...it's a big car, american i guess,
the blue ute has a badge on the side "plymouth"...? dodge

baybuscamperkid - April 9th, 2006 at 09:51 PM

just did some looking, that crumpled wreck would almost be worth restoring. 1948-49 Hudson, either super 6 or commodore. the first car ever with that sort of smooth bodystyle in the US.

i love places like that, more so when there VWs though :P
this is one not far from me, old bloke had a VW shop condor motors since the late 60s had heaps of VWs on his property
for the last few years he's been saying he was moving up to mount isa and burrying them all b4 he left, well he did move to mount isa but all the VWs were still there till 2 years ago
i think they all got crushed:cry
most were decent restorable cars to, that orange super i connected my heart starter to so icould test the wipers and curiosity got the better of me so i turned the key after a few farts and splutters she fired up!!
it was covered in qld vw drivers club stickers
got alot of good parts from there though

pod - April 9th, 2006 at 10:20 PM

was going to say ute up near top was a dodge or similar as had a mate who had a sedan which was similar, all them cars need to be restored or something:(

phil - April 9th, 2006 at 10:29 PM

oh man! what a waste!

bbck....thats it..a hudson
wonder if the super six refers to the engine...it was a six cylinder, i peeked under the bonnet

phil - April 9th, 2006 at 10:37 PM

yeah pod, i thought the same...i suspect that may never happen
its like a family shrine..every thing that his family owned(with wheels)for i guess four generations is pushed onto a bare patch of ground or into a "shed", when it stops running and left
