s#*t happens at work..
h - April 12th, 2006 at 07:51 PM

hey all,
stuff always can go wrong and at work places and im sure its goes wrong often and can sometimes be rather expensive for the company/boss..
so i thought there must be lots of stories and pics that can accompany what goes wrong at work so here is a thread for such antics....

i'll start off with a ute that got well a wee bit bent under a tyre of a 60ton forklift last week..
the driver was luckily outside the ute on the passenger side of the car..
the driver of the fork reversed into it with the steer tyres... 'whoops'

enjoy the pics....

h - April 12th, 2006 at 07:52 PM

last one for now..
how lucky was the driver not to be in the hot seat..:o

h - April 12th, 2006 at 07:57 PM

yeah suppose so.. so long as it happened at the dreaded workplace..
bring on the papercut stories.. haha :D

Volkswagenboy - April 12th, 2006 at 08:13 PM

I've burnt a hole in my arm on a fresh weld,
Dislocated my shoulder when I fell into service pit,
Cut my wrist when opening a box with a stanley knife,
Fractured my elbow when I jumped off truck engine,
Lost my finger nail twice by hitting with piston/hammer,
Broke a toe when I dropped a 14 litre V8 crank on my steelcaps.
And...
Blew the diff on the 'Gopher' ute (It was buggered for a while before)
All at work.
Oh yeah, someone tried to blame me for burning down a Scania (I wish I did, but as it turned out they did!)
What, do they think I'm clumsy or something?

Yep or wrong place wrong time, youre an apprentice arent you? At my work I overhaul jet engines a TA left a whole unnassembled compressor assy and magnesium gear box housings in the cleaning tanks for the whole weekend when max dwell time is two hours. $320000 worth of parts destroyed, he still has his job.

My old boss used to get a little bit fired up and a tiny droplet of his (YUK) spit went in my eye on more than one occasion. :repuke

didnt happen at my work place, happend at a friends old work place, this was in aged care. a lady that was bed ridden had her leg sticking out of a bed rail and a staff member pushed the rail down on her leg, shattered the bone and no one owned up to it, wasnt picked up for 2 -3 hours.

New Years Day 2000 i had to do a job inside an escalator, the old piece of crap malfunctioned and started up just as i got out, had 3 fingers taken off by the bloody thing, got them back on, man they were greasey to! Happy New Year!!! I can joke about it now, i still have work on the thing to, but i dont turn my back on it.

hipichic - April 13th, 2006 at 10:35 PM

old boss of mine decided to get up in the ceiling and have a look because he thought we had mice up there, fell through and onto his desk, broke his leg and the desk. That healed and then he undid an occy strap on the roof of his car and copped it straight in the eye!

hehe, never seen that before, we did on occasion though tow 2 tractors in convoy with chain when things got too slippery for one to drive the potatoe plow, that was certainly fun to watch :D

PrettyBlueBug - April 14th, 2006 at 12:30 PM

I haven't done many bad things at work... :spin:

Last year I cut my pointer finger knuckle open on a metal shelf... it had just healed when I did the same thing again! Same spot on knuckle, 2nd time I couldn't feel my finger. But it's all good now, complete with wicked little scar. :P

PrettyBlueBug - April 14th, 2006 at 12:35 PM

I used to be friends with a guy who turned out to be a real dumbass. He was riding his pushbike and the chain came off..... so while riding still he decided to try and get the chain back on. The moral of the story? Don't try it unless you want to lose an inch off 2 fingers.

:P

A different guy I know bought some piece of exercise equipment and decided to change something on it... not sure how but he lost an inch off one of his fingers too AND managed to get a payout from the company when it was his stupidity in the first place. :duh

I hit a wrong note and had to listen to it....
