vwtyp2 - May 4th, 2006 at 12:24 AM

dubbill - May 4th, 2006 at 12:31 AM

oh forgot to mention the golden tops just kidding
i told yeah not as good as the holden or ford badges you dont have to spin them at all to see the yobbo symbol:yes:

Scarlet - May 4th, 2006 at 03:55 AM

I'd prefer to spin a Nazi at 666rpm and see if he looks like a vw insignia

bond - May 4th, 2006 at 07:46 AM

heard this once before aswell....

should strap a hubcap to an orbital disc of somesort and video tape it... lol

nick

Schmoburger - May 4th, 2006 at 08:25 AM

Think I'll do it! mwahahahha.... or maybe just get the back wheels spinning and get someone to film it hehehehe

Schmoburger - May 4th, 2006 at 08:41 AM

I just went and spun a T4 van plastic hubcap around on the table (it spins like a top hehehe)... and alas... cant really see much in the way of a swastika.... may still try to spin it faster.... like on a grinder? hehehe :bounce

68AutoBug - May 4th, 2006 at 10:39 AM

This one might.... ???

68AutoBug - May 4th, 2006 at 10:43 AM

Its been illegal for Germans to have a Swastika of any kind,
Since the end of the war.....
It had a mandatory sentence of something like 5 years in prison.....

I was told this by the fellow at the URALLA war museum..
Thats where I took this pic....

68AutoBug - May 4th, 2006 at 10:45 AM

A bit different to this... pic....

so I don't think spinning a kombi badge round would
turn it into a swastika....

unless You were on some kind of drugs....

then it could turn into lotsa different things... LOL...

Go to Nurnberg ice skating competition. It would be easier....

shaihulud - May 4th, 2006 at 11:39 AM

I doubt if this will be shown to be true.

Interestingly enough the BMW symbol is meant to represent a spinning aeroplane propellor. (BMW made the 601 series of inverted V12 engines for the Messerschmidt Bf109s etc.) I never believed that until recently, when a BMW passed me at just the right speed and there they were, a spinning propellor on each hub cap.

kombikim - May 4th, 2006 at 12:00 PM

Bf109 inverted V motors were Daimler Benz
that is what DB stands for

koolkarmakombi - May 4th, 2006 at 12:50 PM

109's actually stated with a rolls royce engine in them, a Kestral iv

bajachris88 - May 4th, 2006 at 01:36 PM

WAIT!! I can see it sorta.
Will photoshop to show. BRB

Schmoburger - May 4th, 2006 at 01:40 PM

I wasnt being n*entirely honest when I said there was none... when you spin it, you can see what looks to be the outer arms of the swastika spinning... however it isnt a clearly defined one that just sits there... as i said... like a spinning swastika.... but blurry in the middle, so you only see the outside bits. Hope Im making a bit of sense

And the blue and white colours to signify the sky and clouds and BMW dominance in this area.

Schmoburger - May 4th, 2006 at 02:01 PM

more VW engines in the air than BMW ones hehe... ultralights often use modified 1600's.

maybe the swastika is actually supposed to resemble a propeller hehe.... or signify the German's prowess with regards to aviation development... swastika is a symbol of nazi germany, which ccommisioned duilding of high-tech experimantal aircraft during the war, which is linked to Hitler's war, which is linked to Hitler, who is linked to VW's... and shit... Im making no sense.... jeebuz... I cant even understand my self! :duh.... time for me to get some air...

373rpm - http://www.fallingupwards.com/Random/373rpm.mov

Is that sort of an Iron Cross????????? :)

pete wood - May 4th, 2006 at 04:53 PM

I'd go with an Iron cross on the last one

Schmoburger - May 4th, 2006 at 05:11 PM

yep.. I'd give ya the Iron Cross one.... first one looks more like a radiation hazard symbol than a Misterbitchy badge tho... :)

urban_myth - May 4th, 2006 at 05:38 PM

I've been told that the speed you can see a swastika on the hubcap of a beetle is 37 mph. Havent tried it yet though.

Schmoburger - May 4th, 2006 at 05:57 PM

should be the same for a kombi!... gonna try it some time soon :bounce

shaihulud - May 4th, 2006 at 06:22 PM

OOPS!! Sorry. Yes the Bf109 had the Daimler Benz engines. The BMW engine was the radial engine in the Focke Wulfe 190s.

thats 60k, a pretty common limit in metro areas, someone would have seen it.

if my head still works that would be around 500rpm with stock tires assuming that the weight of the car squashing the tire is countered by centrifugal force closely.

fekkinell - May 4th, 2006 at 09:12 PM

im kinda expecting to see schmo cruising down the road, hanging for dear life on the outside of his bus staring at the hubcaps :D
