Hey guys,
This isnt concerning VW's but out of curiosity i was wondering what cars had those speedos where the needle was like verticall and slid to the right
when accelerating?
Thanx
i seen a merc that had it, some weird shit
steve
My Borgward Isabella TS had it, it was cool, I used to know a few other cars also, but have forgotten them at the moment
My old MG 1300 has one
didnt xm & xp falcons have them too??
yup I remember Mercs having them
yeah early falcons has something similar not exactly just a horizontal job from memory but its been a long time since ive been in my mates xm
fifties chevs as well
1978 Ford LTD have them.
It was like a bar that travelled across a strip as the cars speed increased.
It was kinda cool, but if you stopped quick or accelerated fast the speedo lagged behind a couple of seconds.

It was a ribbon (I think they were called ribbon speedos)!
My 1969 datsun supersix has a red line that just keeps going to the right (solid). Works by simpy rotating a cylinder. not quite the same... but
similar

Fiats 1100 up to 1500 had them
I trying to covince my Bro to put one in his type 3
