I was talikng to a guy at work the other day and he was admiring my kom,bi saying how he loved them and that he uased to have one. He sold his 1958
splitty about 20 years ago for $100 to some guy. A week later, the police were at his door, guns out, etc.... Apparantley the guy who bought his
splitty used it as the getaway car in a bank robbery (and of course hadn't changed the rego into the robber's name).
anyone else got an interesting or amusing story involving their vw and crime?

not a dub, but a similar storey. my fathers daily driver is a 1.2l? Ford Laser, red, automatic, parked at the train station 5 days a week. one day
my mother (at home) got a call, said the Laser has been found, abandoned, after being used in a burgulary and police chase. i have to tell you know,
i drive that car on my L-plates, and it has the slowest acceleration of any car i know and can barely reach 100k.
anyway, we got it home, fixed up, and around 6 months later the guy was caught. it turned out he had a fetish for red lasers, and the policeman who
caught him had been sitting in his car having a coffee-and-donuts break, got the call for the robbery as our little red laser zoomed past. tha damn
car was so slo that the robber hopped out and ran after about 5 min.
Going back a few years here - A mate of mine had an old Kingswood and parked it in Parramatta one night for a night out. He put his crook lock on, but
didn't do it up because he didn't have the key.
We got back to the space where the car was, to find the crook lock placed on the floor where the car used to be. Needless to say I p'ed myself
laughing. He cried when he got the call to his burnt out wreck a few hours later.
Squiz.......
