I've made a cable shifter from the guts of a 2000'ish Celica, does not look that cool though I'll give you a call if work ever gets quiet.
Cheers Stephen
is there such a shifter available for an old beetle ?

T54
dont they specify its only for a golf on their website?
Anthony
sorry, i now realise my error
Anthony
Could someone tell me just generally how a cable shifter works?
Cheers
The shifter the cable is for the R lock out
And now for even stupider people like me?
Or shud it be left unexplained :P
i think neil means that it is for the "reverse lock out" which basically means you cant push it into reverse without pulling up a leverl on the
gearstick or something similar. which takes out the possibility of shifting accidently into reverse while changing gears.
