Just want to take a quick moment to say a big thanks to Les at the Caltex Servo in Taree (Barls dad)
The story as it goes ..
My sister has taken the T25 ( an early T3 Transporter) on a road trip down to Melbourne and after 100's of km's of trouble free motoring it began to
get hot. She tried to bleed the system with directions over the phone, but those of you who know T25 / T3 VW's will know this is no easy feet.
Anyway she almost made it to Taree before giving up and calling the NRMA.
Once she let me know she was nearly at Taree I did a quick search on here for posts by Barls and located his Dad's number. Anyway a quick call saw
his address with my sister and me feeling that the T25 was going to be in good hands.
As luck would have it the Tow Truck Driver - Matt from Taree also turned out to be a top bloke and a VW Nut. Needless to say he knew where to take the
van and got my sister there unscathed and feeling better ( Cheers Matt).
Once at the Caltex, Les was more than helpful, diagnosed the issue as a faulty radiator cap, he played with the cap, let the air out of the system and
let her know what part she needed. Seems there is a shortage of T25 radiator caps in Taree.. luckily air freight will see one in my sister hands by
lunch tomorrow.
Anyway back in tip top running condition due to the mods done by Les and she made it to Newcastle without further issue.
Thanks heaps to Barls Dad, Les at the Caltex Taree, I can fully recommend him for great service and a friendly face if passing through Taree.
His address is 106 Commerce St.
It kind of makes it all worth while when someone out there in VW land helps out a one of your family member and asks nothing in return.
So once again a BIG THANKS and if the opportunity arises I will happily repay the favour.
Cheers Les.

Good on ya Mr Barls!! :bounce:bounce:bounce
Bloody hell eh? It's a pity the apple fell soooooooo far away from the tree.

But seriously....well done Mr Barls. It's great to read a nice story once in a while.
yes he is a good bloke, my windscreen decided to explode literally right outside his workshop. he hooked me up with a screen from obrien, never asked
for anything in return. said he had one if they couldnt help that he would sell me, even though he wanted it for himself.
top bloke
Good stuff - it is great to hear a feel good story like this. Hope karma will repay Mr Barls with good fortune and successful longevity for his business.
Heard his brother is a great bloke as well
Hmmm...............wonder what went wrong with Barls then???
Must be adopted.
