Thursday was panic day getting the Kombi cleaned up (to be continued 6am Friday morning) with rain looking imminent.
On top of that one of our girls got croup cough and the family would no longer be going with me. What if it rains? What if I don't meet anyone?
Should I still go by myself etc etc etc.
Well I headed to the cruise in Friday morning from Govt House Parramatta out to the Buttterfly Farm at Wilberforce. Caught up with to Beetles on the
way to Parramatta also headed to the cruise. Just seeing them somehow eased some of my anxiousness even then.
The cruise headed off at 8.30am and it couldn't have worked out better. The rain held off thankfully. This was my first ever cruise and let me
say how great I thought it was. For anyone who has not been on a cruise it's hard to describe. It's very enjoyable being part of a
procession of VWs and funny to see cars heading in the opposite direction and pedestrians on the way all looking, pointing, smiling and laughing!
The time I spent at the Butterfly Farm was just as enjoyable. Again we were lucky that the rain held off (excpet for one brief light shower). There
were all sorts of VWs there, old, new, stock, modified, all Types and colours.
And talk about friendly, spoke to many people from this forum as well as other VW enthusiests. Alot of the time I didn't even have to initiate
the conversations which was great as I'm not the most forward person at all.
All in all I give the day 11 out of 10!
Below please find a plethora of pictures which I hope there is something to suit everyone's tastes.
Cheers...KOM123
I knew I was going to regret not going, but I didn't realise how much!!!

is very hard, I have seen this trailer on the highway, but it was going the other way and I was spewing that I couldn't turn around. it is the
only one I have seen in OZ.
Thanks for the reply's I really appreciate it! I will have to contact him and have a look!
Rob....
I'd just like to add that if you own any of the VWs in this thread or the thread that I started for my Nats pics and you want 640 x 480 original
digital copies, let me know your details and I will be happy to email them to you
With only a couple of the VWs there may also be additional pictures of the exterior or interior but I couldn't post them all as slowly using up
all my web space.
Anyway let me know if you need them.

The sunday was realy well oraganized. The motokhana was fun, and the khanacross even better. It was really slippery. With the khanacross having in some sections trees very close to the track.

Ian was going mad in the suby outback powered caravelle.
Oops, forgot to put these up before. These were on the way out to the Bug-in on Saturday morning.
Volma, Skewy, BiX, BenetonVW, VW54, Speedster and Bug11Y you have email
Thought you might like original size pics of your VWs from the Bug-In.
I was dissappointed with the bug in. Mainly because I misinterpreted the venue as being a butterfly farm. I thought that meant butterflies being bred
and flying around and stuff. Apparently you can pin em to the wall and still call it a farm though. After telling my daughter for a week that we were
going to see how they make butter and look at different butterflies, I wasnt the only one dissappointed. 2 1/2 hours of "are we there yet"
for little reward. There was an "old fashioned illegal playground that you can hang upside down from (me too not just the kid), fall off and hurt
yourself real bad and call it character building" so that was good though.
But I didnt get there till 12:15 and cars were leaving. If wifey had of went to the gym before we left (which was her plan) we would have missed the
whole thing.
And why didnt anyone take a picture of my mitsubishi?
Hi there KOM123, just arrived home yesterday and checked my mail tonight. Great pics and nice to meet you and catch up with forum members. The trailer was home made by the guy who supplied the trophies and shirts. Fantastic job especially with the 302 powered bug in friont. Hard to imagine the bug was modified over 30 years ago and is the owners daily driver. volma1
Yes was great meeting you too The fact that that the 302 is the
guy's daily driver makes it even more commendable!
