Do original VW Horn buttons say anything on the back?

Do they have VW stamped or a part number?

I pulled off my one which came with the car and it has Sidler stamped on it.....?

Is it after market?

The one I just took off my '70 Bug has 'Sidler' inside it too, not sure if the NOS one I replaced it with does... might check tomorrow for you.

I'm thinking it's real.
Alot of a VW as in metal latches speedos lights etc were made by contracted companys like hella,VDO etc and did not always have the same company producing the same item the whole time.
For eg-Splitscreen kombi taillight housings, some are hella and some are SWF and look the same from a distance but are slightly different in manufacture but do the same job in the end.
Must have been up for tender to do stuff for VW and whoever was cheaper got the job(only guessing).
Anyway hornbuttons probably got done the same but I'm only guessing don't quote me it's a maybe.

I have a 1973 swing axle 1300 Beetle. The steering wheel does not have a horn ring, only a black plastic button in the middle.

The horn button has a VW symbol and the number 211. 415 671- There is also a capital H

I hope this helps.
