I'm a Noob!
VOLK - April 22nd, 2003 at 07:17 PM

Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself, and my golf of course...I'm residing in Townsville and drive the only restored 1976 Mk1 in my town. So needless to say I get my fair share of narrow-minded redneck comments, and even some praise and approval! There's no vw scene in this town, so it's kinda hard to fraternise with any dubheads...

Any one else on the forum own a mk1?
Cheers
Joe

welcome aboard mate.
nice little pic of your golf.
hope to be seeing more of it in time to come.
No matter what vw you have, they are a very respecting mob on here.

Heheheheh
Well I spose if you had a Gun rack in the back....... the locals would chat all day!
(Redneck joke....Ipswich gets them all the time)

you just have to love the names given to someone new. the army is full of them.

Phil74Camper - April 24th, 2003 at 10:10 AM

Hmm...gun rack...you can do that!

VW Germany had an M69 option, which was a gun rack. It was available for the Type 181 (German Army) and later the Iltis 4WD. Dunno about Golfs though!

Nah
bugger it (no pun intended) just take one out of an L110 and weld the thing in. Sure you could get one in there somehow......:P
