You might have seen this before. Dawn in Paris, and a guy in a Ferrari 275 GTB. Nothing like it... enjoy.

I love it.

fekkinell - August 26th, 2006 at 02:19 AM

forget the Evo with all its computers... bring back the old days... awesome clip :D

shaihulud - August 26th, 2006 at 04:54 AM

The French movie A Man and a Woman is one of the best movies for having lots of driving in it. It was made when the Ford Mustang and Ford GT40 were new. The story is about a French couple who have one each as the family cars. The actors drive them constantly throughout the movie. Otherwise it's a bit tedious.

Fireball xl5 - August 26th, 2006 at 10:22 AM

Le mans with steve, and GrandPrix with that american man.
Almost wore out my C'était un rendez-vous tape with constant watching when I was a kid. And when vatinen is only driving one handed as he sheilds his eyes whilst power sliding is a classic

ctefeh - August 26th, 2006 at 11:49 AM

Vanishing Point - I've got a real thing for 426 '70 Dodge Challengers
Bullitt - 20 seconds of plot, bring on the Mustang!

Oasis - August 26th, 2006 at 01:42 PM

Got Bullitt on DVD, great driving, but hey, what a story! :puke

Also Ronin and the A8, and the Italian job! (the old one of course with the Miura)

Awesome bit of footage.
However, the engine sounds have been obviously overdubbed, and quite badly too.
The car is obviously hard on brakes in some tight streets and the engine is still wailing away in the same gear and revs as it wold be doing on the fast open stuff. Puhleeze!
I--dont--think--so!
You can ever hear the audio loops edited together in the tyre screeching, LMAO! Sounds a bit like an old pinny parlour vid driving game Bwaaahahahah!
I didnt see when the footage was made but prolly all analogue given the film was done on 35mm!

However, a very enjoyable bit of footage nonetheless. Id love to hear the real in-car sound tho (if any).
ill bet youd hear the navigator rattling off "pace notes" and keeping extra eyes out for traffic.
At thos speeds, you dont take your eyes away from the road ahead of you for even an instant!

awesome driving.

my fav driving movie is the old 'gone in 60 seconds' from '77, although a 40min chase scene is a little long:dork:

Fireball xl5 - August 26th, 2006 at 05:32 PM

Bought the re release of the original and best gone in 60 seconds, great chase, still think the italian job is the the best chase of all time with bullit and gone in 60 joint second.

sean68 - August 26th, 2006 at 07:01 PM

tassupervee - August 26th, 2006 at 07:20 PM

Yeah, although you gotta love the boat chase scene in Venice, and looking at Charlise Theron. The rest was crap.

Do you count Peter Sellers driving his electrician Van three times in a row into the swimming pool in the Pink Panther movies a car driving scene?? Cracks me up every time.

vwjon - August 27th, 2006 at 01:13 AM

the italian job, first release is the best. i do like back to the future as well, wot chase scene? the kombi doin 88mph trying to catch the delorian. oh how i laugh!!:lol:

shaihulud - August 27th, 2006 at 05:28 AM

With regard to the Pikes Peak film. I noticed that the driver was Robby Unser. Should that be Bobby Unser?

Don't forget that back in the 1970s a VW based Meyers Manx Dune Buggy with a supercharged Corvair engine broke all records up Pikes Peak and after a few years they changed the rules and banned VW based buggies from the event, much as the 4WD fraternity has banned 2WD VW based buggies from the Rubicon Trail in California.

YAY!! for VW Beetles. The best and most versatile cars ever made.

Fireball xl5 - August 27th, 2006 at 09:31 AM

Robby Unser is Boobby Unsers son

1982, Running On Empty. Loved that film.

Did you read the back story on that Ferrari chase scene? Great stuff.

And the G.I.S. series: I have all of them on DVD, plus the Ghost Rider bike versions. Very stupid and very cool.

shaihulud - August 29th, 2006 at 08:58 AM

Talking about Aussie car movies. The Cars That Ate Paris. Now, there's a very strange film.

Plus all of the Mad Max films.
