Come and Try Motorkhana 28/10!!! PICS NOW
pete wood - August 27th, 2006 at 03:23 PM

Right you pack of sooks (yes I'm trying to push your buttons), how hard can you really drive your car? You think you can really drive? Well here's an opportunity to fly your VW colours and have a great cheap days out.

CACA car club are staging two Come and Try Motorkhanas between now and the end of the year. You DON'T need a cams licence or a helmet or a fire extinguisher. All you need is a road worthy car and a sense of adventure. THe cost is around $35 (from memory) including lunch and you race from about 10-3pm. Kids from 12 years old can enter too, so bring your teenage kids out for a day of driver training.

As I said there are TWO dates.
23rd September - Ansell Pk, Richmond NSW.
28th October - Ansell Pk, Richmond NSW.

This is a great intro to short course rallying and the emphasis is on car control rather than outright power and speed. You can drive as fast or slow as you like. The course is just flags and a flat paddock so street cars are fine as well. The only repairs you can expect afterwards is cleaning a dusty car.

You can contact the club for more details here...

I've given you all plenty of warning so there is no excuse to pike out.

jo_tas - September 18th, 2006 at 09:07 PM

Looks like fun!
I'll be having a go at one down here on sunday! I'm really looking forward to it!

HEL-70Y - September 19th, 2006 at 03:37 AM

can you have a passenger in the car?

than again that will probably just slow me down more

pete wood - September 19th, 2006 at 09:27 AM

yep you can have a passenger. They just need to sign a form. If it's your girly, why don't you get her to enter as well? Do you want me to put her down too? Just give me her name. You don't get out of first gear speed isn't an issue.

BTW, Sez I'd put the top on your car to stop dust getting in. Coz if it's as bad as the last one, you'll be struggling to see otherwise. And that's without even mentioning the amount you eat. Took me months to get it out of the buggy after last time.:duh

Jo_tas;
you go girl! great to see other people getting into it as well. :tu:

HEL-70Y - September 19th, 2006 at 09:36 AM

my girly's gooooooone, i might bring my lil cuz keep them entertained for a day or come down with a mate or something, i'll see what happens. As for registering some one else, i dont think any one else is able to drive me car (i sort of built it to only fit me =)

Glad you told me about the roof thing, means i gota get it back on now, is it really that bad without a roof? whats the difference with dirt in your car or out side your windscreen?

pete wood - September 19th, 2006 at 11:07 AM

man, I'm so sorry to hear about the woman. I guess Valla was the last straw eh?

HEL-70Y - September 19th, 2006 at 03:13 PM

naa dude, actually glad she's gone...wasnt because of valla, long story

pete wood - September 20th, 2006 at 09:47 AM

LAST CALL!!!!! book now for the 23/9.....

or wait until October. :td:

pete wood - September 21st, 2006 at 11:34 PM

Absolutely last call for saturday. Email me NOW!!!

Karn, if you live in Sydney and haven't got anything on, at least come and have a look. It's right next to the RAAF base and is free to get in. It's at Ansell Pk, Richmond. Go toward the airbase and turn right just as you see the airstrip lights, before you go up the hill alongside the run way. If you can see planes you've gone to far.
