A guy called Lucky Keizer ran this donk in a motorcycle chassis for drag racing. I was at the Happy Birthday Australia MC rally in Canberra back in '88 or so when it was there. NOS fed too! Everyone wanted to hear it but he didn't bring fuel with him. About 2000000 people took off to find some and 1/2 hour later he cranked it into life and did some fun run's.

Just mind boggling, ear shattering, gonad vibrating heaven!

And looky who the seller is!!! The man himself! DAMN, the price. 100K look in.

Hi

More info on the bike. http://users.hunterlink.net.au/~ddped/rrv2.htm

Follow the link at the bottom of page for more weird bikes. The "MIG" appeared at the VW Nationals years ago when it was held at Parklea.

$100k hey i think i would rather spend that sort of money on say a house or something, or maybe 20 flat 6 porsche engines.

1303Steve,
I see the article was '87. By the time he rolled up to the rally he'd done the mods. The tank was sectioned and the 3-71 sat in the space, and the Q-jet on top with a small bugcatcher.
I have a picture of it somewhere in SC guise from the rally.

I saw a TV show many years ago with a decent segment on one of those R?R Merlin cutups fitted to a bike.
Interesting bit of kit I remember from the segment. Bit of a rat bike actually.
Dumped the exhaust straight out of short individual headers....christ what a racket. I cannot remember whether it still had a blower fitted or not but that doesnt ring bells either.

The guy who built it was from ( I think) Orange in mid-west NSW.

I cannot remember if this is the same guy tho as the name does not ring many bells either.

A hundred grand tho.............. neh, dreaming!
Still, hes entitled to ask whatever he likes I suppose.

I think Id rather ask Dangerous dave to make me something a little tougher than that for a hundred large!

I saw this in a black frame and chassis at Ponde in ? '91??? All those years are kind of a blur ;) had a huge tunnel ram on top of the blower. Just check out the size of those exhaust ports.....

Started up in front of 10000 pissed bikies, my ears still bleed at the thought of it.

Dude is dreaming, 100k for the whole sorted bike meybe...

Can you imagine wheeling it out of the shed for entertainment at the xmas party lololololol

Tlkling of Merlins. Tony, who runs The Edge Products (makers of excellent dune buggies) in Malaga, here in Perth, in the process of setting up a Rover Meteor which is a Rolls Royce Merlin which has been modified to fit into a tank.

He has stripped it of all non-essentilan parts, has polished it, and using his own home made manifolds he is going to fit two very big turbo chargers to it.

One day Malaga will resound to the roar of a turbo charged Merlin Engine. I hope that I am there to hear it.

I LOVE THE SOUND OF MERLIN ENGINES.

Im right with you M8

I used to drive down from Sylvania across the Tom Uglys bridge across to Blakehurst (in Sydney) and watch the "Thunder Boats" (aptly name RR Merlin powered tunnel race boats) roar up and down of a Sunday arvo.

The sound of those unmuffled, blown things roaring away at over 4500rpm was amazing!

I also went to the air races down here in Tassie a few times and being and old aircraft maintenance engineer, the sound of an old Spitfire roaring off the runway and doing a mock dogfight over an old wartime airfield with a P51 Mustang and a Hawker Sea Fury effectively silenced Tassuperkart and almost broght me to tears.....................!
The sound of the Spit, doing low passes at full throttle across the airfield with that unmistakeable whine from the supercharger is something I shall never, ever forget!
