rear reflectors

hi everyone, this is my first post on your forum. i was advised to ask here for help by a member of the ford forums after my husband posted a quert on there. ok well my problem is that i own a 2000 new beetle and have just brought some clear tail lights for it. the original lights had intergrated reflectors, but the new ones don't. the ones they provided are designed to be screwed into the rear bar, but will look very bodgy... what i'm after is an alternative, preferably a love heart shaped reflector or otherwise a simple round item to compliment the round tail lights... any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

A bicycle shop may be able to help you with simple round reflectors. They must have a total reflecting arear of no less that 2 square inches.

Thanks for that. I was thinking a bike shop. I couldn't find anything on ebay or anything like that. I didn't know about the size either, thanks for letting me know.

Yes,
You will find that the new tail lamps are illegal..
they must have the DOT approval number on the lights.

and I have heard the police are cracking down on illegal lights in some states..

Reflectors- there are many various sized shaped reflectors about these days for bicycles and motor bikes..
also check out the latest cars that have shaped seperate reflectors on their rear bumper...

You should be able to find something...
many just stick on, so no holes have to be drilled...
and even if you get screw on reflectors You could still use the automotive double sided tape to stick them on...
