Steve Irwin RIP Killed on MONDAY 4th Sept
68AutoBug - September 4th, 2006 at 04:24 PM

Yes, its a sad Day today as Most Australians feel for the Loss of one of Australia's best known identities.

Steve was well known throughout the world as the Crocodile Hunter and an Australian and He really put Australia on the Map in many countries.

I saw some of His TV Show bloopers a couple of days ago
and He came across as a normal Aussie...

I believe He will be sadly missed around the world...

there has never been anyone like Steve....
and there probably never will be....

He was as Unique as some of the animals He showed Us...

RIP Steve Irwin..

RIP steve

PUNCH_BUG - September 4th, 2006 at 04:36 PM

Mate I second that, He has done a huge amount for conservation of Australia, fought strongly to have certain areas turned into national parks and nautre reserves. He was dedicated and passionate in what he did. Cheers to Steve.

If you ever had the pleasure/luck of meeting Steve the beers shouldnt be quiet. They should be full of crikies, strewths, thumbs in nether regions and all at about 11 on the volume knob.

he lived hard and true to his heart. God bless ya Steve and condolences to The Irwin Family, thanks for allowing us all the privelege of knowing such a dude !

R.I.P.Stevo you put OZ back on the map, i hope his wife and kids will be ok. Why does this shit happen to the good guys, it's all ways the dickheads that live to old age. My heart is heavy now, Damo.

Lets all make a donation to his, wildlife environment groups and his native animal hospital.

His manager was on the talking box saying he ( Steve ) had been couped up due to bad weather for a few days and they couldnt do the piece they were aiming for for a few days so he went out in the dinghy with a cpl of crew to do some shots for Bindies show, he just couldnt keep still. Hope she doesnt guilt out, freakin cool kid that one.

Starbug - September 4th, 2006 at 08:19 PM

this is a sad day for australia, and the world...
one of our most vocal conservationists, a man who actually got things done, a man who showed respect and love for all animals has died :(
my condolences to his family and friends... his poor kids now have no dad :cry:cry:cry

i liked and respected the guy... he spoke out for those who cannot speak for themselves, i hope one day another person can come along with such charisma and happiness to speak out for the environment and respect for all those creatures that inhabit it.

RIP steve... the world will miss you:cry

bugeyedbabe - September 4th, 2006 at 08:23 PM

I've been watching..and trying to work out time lines....

the news appears to have broken around 2.00pm today...but which time...terri had the kids on a chartered flight back home...
they arrived from tassie approx 4.30.

It seems she knew, but at that point of announcement hadnt told the kids. they have now been informed. Apparently his death wasnt announced until just after Terri knew...from what I can gather, and see.

BUt having said that...to lose someone u obviously love so much, whilst in the public eye...wow.

I wish the family all the best in recovering from such a loss.

crewcabconnection - September 4th, 2006 at 08:26 PM

my kid is a massive fan, we go every year and still will. He's represents all that Australia should strive to stay in my opinion. Massive loss, my 5 year old is still crying...

Ayton Senna said once when asked about the dangers of F1 - 'it is not as tragic to die doing something you love'.

Hearts/Prayers go out to his family and all in the Beerwah community.

Aussie of the decade, let alone the year.

ancientbugger - September 4th, 2006 at 08:31 PM

We book people into Australia Zoo all the time up here at the resorts on the sunshine coast and we always joked about cheering on the crocs at feeding time, but it certainly is a terrible thing to happen. I suppose it was on the cards though but I read on another news website that there's never been a recorded death by stingray before, just goes to show that when your card comes up there's nothing you can do about it.
