CAFFINEPUSHERMAN - October 17th, 2006 at 06:31 PM

not long now and my new toy arrives that day

baybuscamperkid - October 17th, 2006 at 06:39 PM

hey jen, is there going to be parking inside the venue for non-prize competing vehicles? would love to get a little area organised where all of the Bay Window Mafia can park together if that is possible.
cheers
Ryan

jenz58 - November 1st, 2006 at 08:09 PM

Hey guys...sorry I am so slack at getting on here these days

Ren you should have been around when I was at my best :party

My treatment for RSI is nearly complete :sandrine

Damn we had a committee meeting last night Ryan...pity I hadn't read your request sooner

... so to be allowed to park in side you have to enter your ride in the judging/pay the entry fee...is that OK with the bay window mafia...question mark...hmmm. ... I have shift key problem...

I used enter Bel pre restoration juast to see her amung all the other sweet beetle ... I never imagined I'd do with her what I did but I used to look at how she compared and what I'd need to do to get her looking nice and original again...if she had of been in a carpark I would not have been able to notice the smaller details so much and get people looking at her and giving me hints and tips

My tip is enter even if you have no hope of winning..it's just being amungst it all with your ride...

Ryan if you want to have an area for a group of you let me know...I'm going to pin this thread up top so others who have missed it can catch it...there's still time to enter early....EXCLAMATION MARK....:bounce:bounce:bounce

Grey57 is now the VWCV vice president...it was at our meeting that I realised how out of touch I am with my powers

I'm about to practice again...consider this thread topped :sandrine

Hmmmm and by the way....is anyone close to my post count yet.....NOT THAT I EVER COUNTED  .... I was SO full of useful VW info ;)

OMG memories....I miss this place :fakesniff::jesus:tu::kiss:duh:?::kiss:

MMMMMMM how I lurv those Smilies :beer

Enter early folks :!:

Who needs a shift key :?: :tu:

rookie - November 2nd, 2006 at 10:27 AM

discount aside, if you don't register early will you miss out on entering the competition? Will I still be able to just 'rock up' on the day and enter? Only I won't know until nearer the time if I'm coming in, that's all..

cheers.

Grey 57 - November 2nd, 2006 at 05:19 PM

Rookie, you can just turn up on the day. Pre registration is there to try and reduce the que getting in. If you could it would be great if you printed off the entry form and had it pre filled out to speed up the entry.

Be good to see you there on the day.

rookie - November 2nd, 2006 at 11:02 PM

hey grey... thanks for the advice. Im looking forward to meeting some people, as this will be my fisrt show since I arived in oz.

I'll be in my light cream 1960 bug on red steels and whitewalls. ( and some cheeky pinstriping and graphics if I can get it sorted in time ;op )

see you there,

Luke.

NO!.... and you never counted???? I'm sure we had a running battle for a while.

To everyone going, even with crap cars... park inside. Then you can keep an eye on them, fill em with swap meet stuff, talk about them and rest your legs in them.

Is it undercover? It IS melbourne... you may wish for some shelter. Will never forget my first DOVW.

baybuscamperkid - November 4th, 2006 at 08:09 PM

ok, cool, will talk to the BWM boys for now, but for the moment can i get a spot big enough that i can pull out my vintage canopy (12ft long, off teh side of the bus) and use that as a meeting place for the group?
cheers

Wild1 - November 4th, 2006 at 08:21 PM

sounds good Ryan, I wouldn't mind being inside (although Huey's no show puppy)
did you get my PM re: the 25th?

baybuscamperkid - November 4th, 2006 at 08:43 PM

got pm, think your right, give it another bit of PR towards the end of this wek, if no extra interest then maybe we can it this time.

Wild1 - November 4th, 2006 at 08:45 PM

let's just have a melbourne meet-up, i'm sure we can get some interest

Stealth - November 5th, 2006 at 08:49 AM

So where do you enter the VW countrybuggy???, Manx?? etc?? in the judging form.

Is this an oversight?

Grey 57 - November 5th, 2006 at 06:53 PM

Good point. Will check it out Stealthy.

Grey 57 - November 14th, 2006 at 08:37 AM

Checked out the issue on Country Buggies and Baja etc. These will be covered under a KIT BODY class.
Will be added to the show entry form as soon as possible.

Cheers

Dean

vw54 - November 16th, 2006 at 06:53 AM

Grey 57 - November 19th, 2006 at 09:23 PM

Went out and had a look at the DoVW site today under car show conditions. Tons of undercover room for traders shown the first pic.

second pic shows the main entry into the show area.

third is the main show car area i front of the grand stand.

There are a few nice shady spots. All show cars will be parked on the grass. We have set aside some nice areas for the Karman and Rat look guys.

There is a Tabaret right on the course so your better halfs can go and have a drink and a sit down and maby a gamble if they so desire.

Good location.

Oh and here is a kewl car I saw at the shoe too. El Camino ute with a Studebaker Bomber nose grafted on the front.

blutopless2 - November 20th, 2006 at 10:15 AM

what happened to the modified new beetle category that was in last year?
