Finally got my car back on the road on Saturday. The motor specs are now 2027cc, (94x73mm), CP Performance 5.7 inch Race rods, Steel billet cam in
Engle K-8 grind, heat treated lifters, Total Seal rings, Berg chromoly pushrods, Berg 1.45 rockers, 040 heads with 40x35.5 valves, Berg dual springs,
ported & polished, match ported tall straight shot manifolds, 45mm Dellortoes with CB Performance update kit. Had 90hp at the wheels with the
1880cc which was exactly the same combo but 90.5mm barrels so it wll be interesting to see some dyno figures by just changing the piston size to 94mm.
Maybe 100hp at the wheels???
This mated to a new close ratio box with a 1.58 third & 1.04 4th, which is a big difference from the L-bug box that I was running. The revs seem
to fall much nicer in the power band now.
I've also gone entirely through the braking system with new disks all round, cross drilled with type 4 calipers on the front & Ford calipers
on the rear, even the VW handbrake cable bolts right up to the ford caliper & the VW brake line screws straight into the ford line, too easy.
The wheels are 17x7.5 inch with 215/45 & 225/45 Falkan Azenis ST115 tyres.
None of this is new ground breaking stuff, but I'm sure that some of the info can help someone else in their project.
I should say a big thanks to richard Holzl from V-force for supplying basically everything that I have mentioned & even donating a lot of things
so that I can compete this year, thanks to Steve Carter for all the Phone calls about brakes & wheels & my good friend CT Hansen who spent all
day Saturday with me helping me out with the car when he could have been at home working on his own car. Thanks mate!

Congrats Jak, I'm looking forward to hearing some times! :thumb
Yeah good to see u back on the road.
I will be interested to know if this combinations works as good as the other one.
In theory this should pump more... but some combos work better than others for some strange reason.
Let us know soon. Have you sorted the carbies n jetting yet.
been for a F3 cruise ???
just take it steady until u have broke it in
Jak, good to see it's back on the road.
Looks real nice now with the 17" wheels.
Cheers:thumb
mmmmmmmm...That engine combo sounds sweet.!
Look forward to hearing all about it.
Excellent Jak , love those wheels I havent seen them on anything else yet either.
I am sure those Porsche boys will be seeing a lot more of your rear with that combo .
I bet you are already planing another Dyno Day. I cant wait to see some numbers.
Richard he the man.
Mitchell.
Yeh Dave went for a nice cruize on the F3 just taking it nicely up & down the rev range. Doesn't feel that much more powerfull than before
but it's still very tight with every nut & bolt brand new, didn't skimp this time, let Boris know that his old crank is still going
strong!

pS I had forgotten how a hot vW turns heads, I've been driving a Holden vectra around for a couple of months & I just blend into the traffic
in that thing!
Whoo Hooo!!!!!!!!
Good to see!
Can i ask what the fron brake set up is?
I was going to go with the DBA but now Richard says "no"

Great to hear you're mobile again Jak.
Looking forward to seeing you at Raleigh.
Steve
Looking at your car is almost enough to turn the average T3 nut into a
bug lover.
Will be very interested in how your motor goes keep us all posted.
What a sweet ride

looks great jak!
So how come u didn't go for a new stroker crank or was it too much $$$?
should be great once u get it on the dyno
cheers
Let me know when ur heading to the dyno, I'll book some time as well for the new 1916.
The 84mm stroker will go in at Xmas time, making it 2330cc. Can't wait!
I'll let u know Pete when we get back to the dyno, e-mail me & get my phone No. so that next time u are up my way u can call in, I'm at
Green Point just around the corner from Terrigal.

Jak
I'll be out at Oran Pk on the 10th. I'll bring out the lipstick camera to mount on ur car.
One question for u jak. With the engine now being over 2000cc does that mean u have gone up a class when racing and ur now the small fish in the ocean so to speak?

So you gonna bring the car out to the drags on the 14th ? I am gonna bring the Golf out this time as long as nothing goes wrong with it again !
Nah Seb, the motor is brand new, it's going to have some more miles on it before that type of abuse, besides, I'm not really interested in
the drags.
