Brisbane traffic totally screwed
koolkarmakombi - October 18th, 2006 at 11:40 AM

Well there is a 2m crack in an inner city on ramp so the ramp and some of the riverside expressway is closed.

Brisbane at a standstill.

Gympie Rd backed up from the city to Anzac Ave!

Grid locked around the Valley at one stage when a Truck turning couldnt complete it as some idiots tried to go around and noone could move.

kkk

Lucky i just walk from the train station :o

But dam... QR is screwed in the head (soz dave), peak hr, having to wait 55mins till a freakin train comes, and it happens to only be a 3 car unit rather than the standard 6, what are they smoking. Had me pissed off so bad, almost late for an oral presentation/submission for uni, and had to cope with a mum constantly winging at her child (She was doing it all wrong... god dam). so freakin annoying.

Packed trains aren't kool, had some 45 yr old ladies fat backside keep slappin into my face (i was sitting down, she was standing, i got the seat first, hence y i was sitting) while i was shopping in a Just Cars mag... soooo annoying.

transport system in seq sux... I got alot to winge about in regards to QR. Been with them 5 days a week, for the last 6 yrs, and i'm not happy :cussing

So did you offer to help the lady out with her kid since you knew what she was doing wrong ?????
She might have appreciated your help.
You should have been a true gentleman and let the "large" lady sit down.....kids these days.No manners.

You should be so lucky as to have a transport system/train system. If your not happy then walk,or get a car license and a car that works. They couldn't/shouldn't care less if you have been with them for (X) many years. They must be doing something right then..............some people just don't realize how good they've got it.

Try living in Moorooka, and working at Toowong, having to go through the city to get to work, or via indro, with the little one lane bridge.

yesterday i beet it as i had a uni lecture at 3a t griffith so beat the closure. But this morning set a new lane splitting record for myself. 10mins and 5km of continoous lane splitting on the bike.......... I love my bike on days like this :P

Didn't want to be rude, and it would have been nasty, cause i was fired up for alot of reasons.

She might have appreciated your help.

I was getting off at the next stop... sheesh.

I got it cause its the only option atm. try having to travel from the gold coast to the city ON THE BEENLEIGH line to notice how derro it really is... let along the price hikes in tickets over the last couple of yrs... or the times (Edenslanding to southbank, all stations) Not the nice airport express trains that pass straight through...

Each Wednesday I am at the Chermside Medical centre doing some part time work for another company whilst my business gets up and running!

Took me one hour to travel 3kms on the way home trying to get back onto the gateway....lots of fun!

mountainbug - October 18th, 2006 at 08:00 PM

(sorry to highjack..)

Volkswagenboy - October 18th, 2006 at 09:47 PM

Damn straight about the traffic being screwed! I live 18 km away from work and I travel north on Beaudesert Rd to Archerfield, not too bad at all.
:)

555bug - October 18th, 2006 at 10:23 PM

haha you guys need a motorbike, I live at Gordon Park and it is generallya 15min ride and yesterday/today it was 22 :) A mate from work was stuck on Margaret for over one hour in his big ass 4*4. I say outlaw all cars except those older than 30 years and make bikes compulsory.

Gotta love starting at 5:30am and finishing at 2:30pm, what traffic jam?

Starbug - October 19th, 2006 at 01:53 AM

hmmm... i had both a great commute and a sh*t commute today.
This morning rode to uni on my road bike... cyclists everywhere, all smiling and happy and MOVING!! yeah, its certainly the right idea, and its good to see more people riding their bikes to work.

this afternoon though, i thought i would give myself 45 minutes for a 30minute scooter ride out to work... that was pretty optimistic. took 1 hour and 10 minutes to travel just over 18kms. it took me 45 minutes to get from ashgrove to the end of grey st in southbank, and thats including lane splitting!! it was seriously that packed and alot of drivers were hemming in all lane-splitting options (i.e. being assh*les)
it would have taken me less than 40 minutes to ride the same distance on my bicycle. I know thats what i'll be using instead of the scooter next week!

bugeyedbabe - October 19th, 2006 at 10:36 AM

i live at oxley, work at moorooka, and work weird hours (when i feel like it :)) I can start at 8.30am or 12pm...it's up to me.

so for me...no traffic delays.

YES!:kiss

As for u chris...i think the 'fat ladee' was shoving her arse in ur face on purpose....u got the seat...she got the last laugh....(at home to hubby: this little runt jumped into a seat, wouldnt get up...so i shoved my butt in his face every time the trained moved...was funny as!"
