Hey all, I need to confirm whether an oval front clip has one or two holes for the bonnet release conduit..
enlighten me
ta
Mine has just one - NS
Not sure about the holes, but do you have the four fingers? or the three? Sort of like two H patterns one on either side of the centre. The photos on
this link show that it had one hole for the cable guide. I know the link is from the US, but I would think they were the same as us back then as all
would have been German made VWs.

hmm.. only has two fingers...
I havent looked in a while
but from memory it has one bolt up the top near the speedo to hold the tube and 2 bolts where it protrudes on the inner guard
the headlight wiring tubes have 2 bolts for sure where they attach to the inner guard
conduit holes Davo. I'm not giving a flying figtree about bolt holes...
I will have to have a look n take a pic of my Oval 4 U

Will check tomorrow, I am going to look at two original ovals. Will let you know.
on an oval the small pressings behind the shock towers face opposite each other, next series they face the same way
Heres two seperate ovals
and...
so therefore I say one hole!
Has anyone got a pic of the 2 holes ???
...
Oh bugger,
I can see my pics have made it confusing. I think thats either a late Oval front, or not an oval front.......... Bueller?
ah well, no matter. The reason for this thread has been solved....
Thanks for everyones input
