Found some seemingly random stuff in the box of parts in my 54. Anyone see anything familiar?

top pic from left to right:

generator pulley outer, radio blank off for early 60s T1, part off bonnet stay assemly (2 piece), ???, indicator wire cover on steering shaft for oval..
dont know the others tho
all these ids are from my memory from pulling the odd vw apart over the years..

hope that that helped to solve your mystery

Ok starting L to R. Generator pulley half, 58 on radio dash blank plate, Possibly a carby (36hp) strap if not a reverse light bracket, Dunno?!?! and the last is a wire cover for the wires that run down the steering coloum from the indicator arm.

the 2nd photo is of too pipes used for teh accelerator cable...

was given on.. think they are guide tubes for the cable through the housing... i duno. but i know its got to do with the accelerator cable. if anyone knows where/how it mounts... please do tell me!

yep look like throttle cable guides, from out of the fan housing to me.

the throttle tubes go between the carbie and the dog house, there should be a spring as well.only one per motor!! cheers

how to u mount up properly these throttle cable guides?

they slip through the throttle cable holes in the fanshroud (36hp) from the pulley side of the shroud and sit with the wider part of the square stop at the bottom. (i think they might also go through the tin above the flywheel, but it has been a long time since i played with a 36hp)

it's easy when you write it down, but a bit of a pain when you are trying to do it by yourself with the motor in the car as you have to slide the acc cable through the tube, while sliding the tube through the fan shroud, with one hand is jammed down between the shroud and the fire wall etc. there is sure to be a better way than i did it, but....
