was so green that i didnt have the money for this car, from the description it seemed like a ripper and a bargain and it was just down the road from
me. was intrigued when i noticed that it was a twin carb 1600 and had a disk brake front end, then today i picked up a copy of the new VWMA and
noticed that the lil fasty that sold for $800 bears a striking resemblance to the 65 in the mag, the special german import, including the red interior
with Z armrests (supposedly red is rare) although missing out on the centre armrest. congrats to the lucky buggar who picked up what looks like
another rare german import
Yep saw that.......and placed a couple of bids in the last minute! Looked pretty good by the photos. I'm always spooked by "what looked to be another type 3 undercover in front of the one for sale". May have been a bit of a swap! eg. Good parts from one for sale has been put on the keeper under the cover.
Looked good but looks more like OZ assembled one. No flex glass rear popouts, normal red interior as per the 66 specs, black dash pad so not that
imported one with red dash pad and notch front guards with bullet indicators (not standard on any fastback) rather than wrap around which all
fastbacks (up to 69 model) had. Also, all early fastbacks had Z armrests in front.
DH
ah well, looked good all the same.
