was flicking through a HOT4's magazine last night while waiting for tea in a takeaway shop and saw some photos of a car show... there was a white beetle pictured in amongst the rest of the hotted up ricers etc and had to laugh at the caption... "mate, its a car show not a museum"

the bug might be older, but its got more class in just one wheel nut (or bolt ) than all the other ricers put together.

Has anyone else ever shown their VW at a 'mainly ricer' show? What was the reaction?

That's not nice. At lease the beetle is still going lets see if those ricers are still going in 30 years time I don't think so hey.

i entered my beetle in a dB drag sound off a few weeks ago
well as u can imagine it was nothing but riced up P Plater shit boxes
i got a few sniggers and derogatory comments but if i'd had a dead standard vw i probably woulda been laughed outta town but seeing as my bug could probably whipp most of them with the hand brake on, most stayed quiet
most of them dont bother with any mechanical mods other than a fart can exhaust
that and i hit 137.2dB which was better than most of them anyway

yea everyone that knows me knows why i'm half deaf
it made the last chick to ride in its hair stand up literally
but rattles my poor bug to bits

i find generally VWs get respect from the ricer mob
my car got all good comments on boostcruising a few weeks ago and they all went mushy over Reubs VWRX :thumb
