Does anyone know what this vw tool is used for, what year model vw it's used on and how much it would be worth?
:P:sandrine
gearbox plug spanner.......very rare, looks like a "one off" tool to me. well worth the price of two bolts, one washer and 20g of welding rod:P
look like hubmuller gearbox plug removal tool # 041OE. nice pickup nearly as rare as belly button lint from ferdinan porsche (contact me if you would like to purchase some)
I was going to say it looks like a custom job... throw together to make the job easy! Billy at Volkswest over here made one up similar to that, worked
a charm.

Yer we picked it up with the last beetle we brought it was a freeby.:P:thumb

If its a factory tool it will have a number and a makers name on it!
Rob...
My dad was given one of those for our beetle except it was a machined tool. Not sure if it was genuine vw or not.
Yes even though it's only two bolts welded together. I might be able to sell it on ebay and make some money LOL.:P

aren't there enough VW tools round here as it is?
Oh! Yes! I have one of those. It's a nut welded into an old socket. It does the job a treat.
I have two nuts welded onto a short bolt that i use a socket on...
I suppose all that is needed is a long nut, even without a hole in or thread in it....
so a socket or spanner can be used...

i have have one of those in my tool box / bag for my baja that goes around with me , i used to use 2 nuts welded together and ground back to shape also that worked really well but was a bit small as alot of things tend to go missing in my garage
