Little help with this picture
toecutter - February 13th, 2007 at 07:03 PM

I can across this picture as was wondering if this ugly kombi/wagon had a bit more history about it.
It looks like VW-Mercedes-BMW got together, after a night on the delighting tasting substance called beer and produced this W108.
I wonder if the W108 has a type 3 motor in the back as the text is relating to looking through the 4th window.

Anyone got any more info on this freak child?

Looks like a wagon rear end grafted onto a Mercedes sedan

i am having a flashback

cold

so cold

whee a tortoise!

that is really cool, kinda what I imagine an early stacklight merc wagon to look like.

Kinda takes me back but now living in brissy black is a bit hot.

Someone wanted a merc wagon & built one.

I don't think it's "coachbuilt". As a rule when something is coachbuilt, it's fabricated. They don't just graft on parts of other cars.

Very well done though. I wouldn't mind seeing photos of the whole thing to see how seamless it is.
