in the western sydney area
i would love to get together and kruize with fellow dubbers for a chat and a drink
everyone is welcome and any ideas would be great.
some of my ideas include mass kruizes with all vee dubbers and VW car clubs welcome.

Of course any one from Flat Four and Bad Little Buggers would be interested in Cruises.
I wish we had enough Volkswagen Enthusiasts to have 100 clubs in Sydney , but dont think that is the reality.
-
Have you checked out the existing clubs?
If you have , and found them unsuitable for you then All the Best with the new Group.
-
And yes I'm interested in Criusing but maybe not in joining another club.

bennyboy311 - May 8th, 2003 at 10:22 AM

i checked out some of the other clubs but it seems as if they only go on kruizes every blue moon.
i got nothing against the other clubs other then none of them are neer me as i live in the blue mountains.
i don't know if my dream of getting a group of fellow vw nuts together to chat and going for a drive once a month for a social to like the beach or away for a overnighter up or down the coast maybe intersate to other car shows and special events or club parties is just a dream but thats what i would like to do.
i don't know if i'd call it a car club as such more like a kruizin' club with parties and get togethers and maybe even do charity stuff sort of like being a member of aussie vee dubbers where all the other clubs are welcome, maybe even get other classics, hotrods and cutom cars involved to.
i just want to do something fun like that
cheers

Sorry it took so long to get back to this.
Its a good idea, Its like going back to the early days of Flat Four, But the trouble is that Most of the people have so much going on in their everyday lives that they
dont make time for the VW cruise.
It was mainly the young people that were able to cruise most.
I'll try and get some info and get back to you here..:thumb

Search out a previous post on this issue - there were some great ideas for cruises in there, like Richmond, Wiseman's Ferry, etc.

now Wisemans Ferry is a Good cruise.
Ahh the long winding road. Might have to raise the Oval for that one though.:bounce

give me about a month to finish the basics on my vw and after that count me in. i'm near windsor and would love to meet vw people and cruise. i've been on a few cruises(not vw) and they are awsome

bennyboy311 - May 20th, 2003 at 01:04 PM

sounds like a plan, i would love to include everyone in it so there are no exclutions to other clubs and i don't want any clubs to think i'm treadding on toes either, i'm just a youngan thatwants to get into promotion and have fun and was hopeing to take my love of dubs and music and put them together into a mad experience for all to enjoy and to start my career in festivial and concert promotion, i can't think of a better way to enjoy time then with my vw and fellow dubbers having fun listerning to good music and putting my experience in the music industry to use.
i'm open to any suggestions and if anyone wants to get involved it would be really cool too.
hopefully we can organise an annual kruize interstate to for a long weekend but its just an idea.

anyone with any idea can email me at: bennyboy311@hotmail.com
it would be good to hear other dubbers and to meet other dubbers as i became a VW nut not long ago and love to get advice and learn all i can about volkswagens
cheers
Ben

Ben do you know a Guy called Wasa, lives up Blue Mountains and is into "Mixing" .?
And have you put your car details in Members Rides, even if you dont have picture.
We can help with ideas via that , if it helps.

i know it sounds like a kind of dumb thing to do but its a start.

sorry glen i don't know him sounds like a good man to get to know.
i only moved up the blue mountains 6 months ago and i've only been into volkswagens for a year an a half now and besides a few people i've chated with in here the only VW nuts i know are my mate and his boss Kimm from Indian Automotive and i don't get to see them as often as i did since moving out of my mates up the mountains,i'd hate to say it but ....:cry i need more VW friends.
cheers

type3kid - May 22nd, 2003 at 12:08 PM

i nkow how you feel, none of my mates are in vw's. y don't you try organise a vw meet out west. richmond or windsor or somewhere there.

bennyboy311 - May 23rd, 2003 at 10:09 AM

doesn't sound like a bad idea maybe a gathering in a park or lunch somewhere everyone can find with enough room to park like a picnic day, anyone out that way got any ideas for a place?
who would be interested and what days would work for you on the weekend?
if you want to get back to me i'll start to get things together and give you all atleast 4 weeks notice.
cheers
Ben

ps everyone is welcome even if you don't have a VW and are looking cause i'm sure there will be a fellow dubber who can give you advice and at least one lead on someone with one for sale.

or even down the coast to the beach the along the coast line for a nice drive

type3kid - May 23rd, 2003 at 10:54 AM

that would work. we could always have a few stop points on the way to meet people to save them coming all the way out to just go back. plan the route and have a few meeting places at certain times maybe? what do you think?

vanderaj - May 24th, 2003 at 12:42 AM

Whatever you do, don't lose momentum. Declare one day per month as the cruise day, like down here, no matter what.

Then come up with a schedule of nice drives, or try to tie them to other events when it makes sense to do so.

But whatever you do, always be there at the allotted time and go driving so people know that it's cruise day!

When you get say 10-15 people all the time, it's really good, when you get 40+, it's excellent!
