tell us more pls..

Euro_67 - March 9th, 2007 at 08:11 PM

I have a similar looking one, it cost me $700. Goes well for what it is, how much it cost and how much I weigh !

Anthiron - March 11th, 2007 at 12:09 AM

cost me 630 bucks for the bike.

250 for postage, pickup isnt an option so i guess thats where they make a few extra bucks

all in all with postage insurance it was 904dollars to my door which i thought was pretty fair.

it goes surprisingly well. engine is still pretty tight but u can feel it starting to loosen already, recomended run in period is 34 hours which sounds to me pretty extreme but hey.

it has adjustable rear shock/spring, heaps of travel, comfy seat for a MX style bike, decent hangers, i will definatly be getting a K+N filter for it as the one on there is pretty restrictive.

gotta get a brand style sticker kit for it so no one knows its a cheapy, saw a nice DC kit in a mag the other day.

Nick I hope this doesn't mean you'll start neglecting that baja of yours!! BTW I bought one of my boys a quad from ebay at christmas with a 110cc engine and it goes like the clappers even with me on it, just make sure you check all the electrical connections etc as that caused us a few tears early on.

Anthiron - March 12th, 2007 at 07:54 PM

not at all barry in fact im doing a bit of work on it atm.

raised front end is in, new steering box is in, all new tie rod ends now, new side bars should be delivered sometime this week along with manifold peices to put the holley bug spray on and an alloy breather box.

just gotta get a trailer now to tow the bugger around.

Anthiron - April 9th, 2007 at 11:09 AM

after some dramas with the bike which were fixed with a new carby, its back operational, took it for a good spin today with a mate who rode a CR80, need to adjust the rebound of the rear shock as its wayy to bouncy, did a couple of little jumps but too scared to do anything more untill i get the suspension sorted, dont wanna catapult myself over the hangers,

bought a Unifilter air filter for it, i want to make a little air filter guard plate though as it doesnt have an airboxim worried it may suck water if i ride through a puddle and it splashes the filter.

ive got some video footage on my fone but the computer drivers arent working so i cant get it on u tube :(

Where did you get it from Ebay ?

Anthiron - April 9th, 2007 at 03:05 PM

yeah ebay theres a guy who has a store, sells different sized bikes, all brand new orions

aussiebaja - April 9th, 2007 at 05:54 PM

you could nearly stick that on your rear barwork to carry it around:D:D:D

Anthiron - April 9th, 2007 at 09:57 PM

i actually had plans of doing that, but when it arrived it was a bit too big.

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - April 9th, 2007 at 11:12 PM

Be carefull with thes cheapies as I have heard some horror stories of engines crapping themselves in a very short space of time.I know of one seizing up whilst trying to be started!!! Mate nearly broke his leg (wasn't real funny at the time but is now LOL) when the thing did lock up.

Ended up that the piston simply picked up in the bore and munched it up badly. All this after only about 14 hours of use!! I'd be changing the oil in it from new and being super cautious on maintainence as the bores seem very soft construction wise. The other problem I hear from my cousins whoare bike mad are that the electrics are cheap and nasty and you have to keep them dry or they wont go..

Hopefully you got a good one and it gives you plenty of trouble free pleasure!!

Anthiron - April 10th, 2007 at 08:08 PM

i changed the oil as soon as i put it together out of the crate, and have changed it twice again since then during run in, i would never run a bike with the oil it came with, im running 10w 40 castrol magnatec,

it had some problems with the carby, was running very badly, hard to start, blowing smoke. i checked the jets and blew them out, everything seemed to be fine, mixture was fine etc but the guy sent me a new carby at no cost and it has fixed the problem,

my best mate has one as well, he has the model down from me with the tube frame and less suspension travel etc, but it has the same engine and he has had no problems,

so i hope i dont get a seized engine, fingers crossed:P

i plan on making a plate to protect the air cleaner as its just open air, maybe i should wrap the electrics too.
