Is anyone else having trouble accessing the forums because of 'an error accessing the database'?
For the past few weeks it has been coming up intermittently for me. Late last night and until this afternoon I could not access the forums. Also the
server is sometimes very slow. Another website on the server using up all the database speed maybe?
yeah iv'e been havin trouble too
yep, didn't work all day today for me. only just got on tonight. had the same issues earlier in the week, "data abstraction layer error" or something. Is it something I'm doing wrong?
same story pete
nick
What's going on... the site seems to be getting worse?
Ash x
yep me too..
yep same 'ere.
runs very slow here, then has database access errors...
I am on it.. It is a long story but basically we haven't bothered fixing it as we are about to move to a better server and more robust software so
can't see the point in spending time stabilising the current code.
When it happens I have to reboot the server to fix it, PITA but it shouldn’t be an issue for much longer.
Thanks for your patience.
withdrawals aint the word, having to look at other stuff is bad enough:P
woohooo ! thanks Brad for the lowdown on the go down
same here been having the same issues at http://www.miss-modifiers.com
has anyone been able to sucessfully send u2us in the past couple of days? when are these creases guna be ironed out?
The "creases" will be ironed out shortly like Brad has said....makes you realize how much work there is to run a site like this and not getting paid
would dampen your enthusiasm......Good things come to those who wait I s'pose...:beer:beer:beer

Ok thanks guys, so its not just me...
I was getting worried that there was something wrong on my end.
AussieKombi Campers ... no probs send me your name server details and i will point it your way..
Imagine how much work is getting done...
yeah, we sure look 4ward to things runnung smooth again.
The amount of work that goes into doing a seamless change of server would be substantial.
Not only are they doing a change of server but they are also migrating the forums across to a new platform, vbulletin.
I, for one, am truly grateful of the effort that people in the volkswagen community put into it, particularly those behind the scenes of
aussieveedubbers. Here we have a place to talk, share, ask questions, buy, sell and swap, and we aren't limited to those that we see in person.
Lets be patient and let the time be taken to setup the new server properly and ensure the longevity of aussieveedubbers continues.
To whoever started these forums and whoever keeps them running, I say thank you to you all!
