Forum reboots

Hi there,

The server seems increasingly unstable. I don't really want to fix this server just as we're about to move to a new, hopefully more stable server. I don't know what's wrong with it - the logs are silent on the matter.

If folks can e-mail me at vanderaj @ greebo.net if you notice it down that will help tremendously. I will be making sure that the moderators have my mobile phone number to SMS me as well.

thanks
Andrew

ARGH

Found the culprit. It's some pr0n blogs taking all the CPU, bandwidth (2.1 terabytes (!) (as in 2100 GB)) so far this month, and the poor MySQL server doesn't know what's hit it. However, we're still moving. Can't have this.

If we've told you once, we've told you a thousands time Andrew. You need another server for your pr0n. Once we move to the new server you can have as much pr0n as you like on there. :thumb

This is the first time I've been able to post for over a week... silly server.

I can get to http://www.aussieveedubbers.com  first page alright, but nothing else after that usually.
Maybe Andrew you could put a new notice on there about the server stuff and updates?

:)

Hey Andrew,
Why don't you talk to admin at rexnet or ausrotary or ipswichrotarycrew ? All these sites have had big probs in the past which they overcame quick smart.
Without trying to belabour the situation this site is becoming near unuseable.
Just tryin to help,
:beer

Hi

The site is becoming unvisitable. I try from two broadband connections and its like watching paint dry trying to bring up any page on here.

I would say that most users are not even bothering at the moment to vivit the site

We should have permanent relief for a few days. I am looking around for the best deal - there were some corkers during January, but recently the prices have risen with the hardware specs.

Excuse my ignorance of the situation, but will bigpond users still have the same problems with the new server? i.e. no access.
Luv yer work.
Brad

No, we're moving to a new server with no spam issues. Should be fine after that.
