Had my first crack at the drags last night in my buggy. Managed a 15:8et at 83mph in between missing gearchanges and being a total novice. I can
totally recommend it. Zak should have got an award for the ugliest, dirtiest car there. :P

how did you go with that yellow ford was it a eight or turbo six? was there much time difference in it?
[ Edited on 12-4-2007 by ian.mezz ]
Turbo 6, he pulled an 11.9 and left me behind at 60foot mark. On the second run I stuffed up the 1-2 change, but still was quicker than a corolla next to me with a 16:3.
Never thought I'd see you in drag Pete.....AND you let a Ford
beat you?? C'mon....my Vdub engine did mid 13's:P Seriously..good stuff. Should be more of it.
:thumb
next time I'll try and select 2nd instead of 4th. :duh
I reckon the car might have a 14 in it if the owner could drive. I'll have to start practising more at the lights
thats sweet , isnt funny how hard it is to drive down a straight race track ,changing gears is alot harder , actually i found just leaving the line
hard...
was it a busy night ? how many runs did you fit in?
when we went a couple of weeks ago we stuffed about for a good hour after the track opened up for racing and still managed 3 runs each , apparently
it was a massive crowd due to the bad weather and people missing out from the week before..
you must be pumped now for the 16th may
ok , just read the write up through the link you posted , well done good effort
the track was VERY crowded, and because it was school holidays there were stunt bike riders as well. Between that (an EVO driver in front who was
asleep in the staging lane!) and the rain I only got 2 passes in.
Kind of a shame, but it was good too. It's the first time I've had the car on the rev limiter in 3rd. Next time I might try a bit of a burnout.
Great report Pete!
Hope this is the beginning of more fun in the future.
Good effort!
good on you pete hope to see you lineing up against some splitys on the dsk night out there
cheers murray
