Great pics Jak! :thumb Are they the ones they didn't want to put in the club magazine, or did they use them anyway? :P

jakriz - May 12th, 2003 at 06:53 PM

I got my car in the Porsche club magazine last year, so they don't mind me boing there & bringing along some of my friends

Good to hear!! I guess the VW is Porsche's heritage anyway. :thumb

So what do the Porsche owner's think of the Beetles beating them around the track? Do they just cop it sweet?

jakriz - May 12th, 2003 at 07:02 PM

Most of them think that we are fantastic to watch, we get nothing but good comments...............so far.

speedster356 - May 12th, 2003 at 07:24 PM

I was in buying some tyres today for the Speedster and on the waiting room table was a collection of magazines. Can't recall the VW mag but it had ur car in it. Talking about how it is powered by a stockish 1600 with some aftermarket bits, and how you are planning to fit twin Kadrons soon. Come a long way since then!

I'd love to have a big number on the side of mine one day.

Guess I'll keep dreaming.

Has CT's front beams been narrowed. His front tyres fit under there nicely!

Hey Steve,

I was suprised to see the 205/55R16s fit under the front of my oval, especially since there still seems to be some room between teh tyre and the edge of the guard. The beam has not been narrowed. The reason the wheels and tyres fit under there is due to a favourable offset on the Fuchs rims and a little over two degrees negative camber. It's not all roses. The steering doesn't have as much lock as I'd like because the tyres touch the shocks. I'm intending to put in some longer wheel studs and a 5mm spacer. I'd put some 195s on the front but Yokohama don't make a 195/55R16.
