well only about a week before we head off on our cruise round australia in 'wags the white kombi'. still so much to bloody do.
gotto get out of our rental property, clean it and get our bong back (fingers crossed). get my wifes car roadworthy (86 camry), bog it to hell and sell it.
then there is a list of to do's for the kombi which keeps getting longer. want to put in a temp gauge, louvered windows (not holding my breath), put new front shocks on (piece of piss), get all the tools we will need as well as spare bits and pieces to carry, auto transmission cooler (if it's possible) and possibly an external oil coiler.
as well as get out every night for drinks with my old work mates, her old work mates, my close mates, her close mates, mine and her family send off.:puke
so we will see if we are ready to leave by this time next week, all going well we will be cruising through tara, brisbane, redcliffe, tin can bay, fraiser (day trip) then bundeburg en route to cairns.
so this will be my last post from home base but hope to inform all of our journey and catch up with allot of dubbers along the way. cheers scotte:beer

The week leading up to a road-trip is nuts! I remember the end week of november last year 3 of us trying to fix organise, pack and farewell in one week to get to the solar eclipse. You do most of it all on the last 2 days

anywhere that you go, watch out for roos.

You will have the best time. I did around Oz in 99.....and it was the best thing I've ever done. When I retire I plan to do the same thing over, and over, and over....

Tell me about it!! We're heading off from Melbourne to Brisbane in a few weeks time and I'm desperately trying to fix a growing list of kombi problems. The latest one was the disappearance of 3rd and 4th gear. At least it happened before the trip.

yeah we will keep posting updates on the trip depending on where we can find a computer. new adition to the glad it happened before the trip now is a snapped stabaliser bar i noticed while changing the shocks this morning.
don't know bout the lost bong? where that came from?
all this stressing out now won't mean a thing when we are on the road!!!!!!

There are coin operated net machines in the shopping centres on the NSW coast. Might be everywhere. Hmmm - would make a good research trip I reckon

Might try and get funding for that through a Govt Grant.

well for those we are heading off tommorrow, in the end we decided to do what was essential before we left and the rest we can do as we cruise in our leasure time. not freakin out anymore out of the rental property still aint found the bong (musta vanished into thin air), but may get our bond back. now it's just me my wife the open road and whole lotta spare time.
its a shame we don't got room for a guitar cause i was really keen on learning (anyone out there wanna give me some free lessons), i'll keep you alll posted and the pics will be up as promised. cheers scotte

Just make a new bond at every town you stop in, safer that way and every house has a hose in their front yard !!!!
