Found out tonight that up here a place called the "Big Fish" ( just past the Bribie Caboolture turn off Qld) has a big car show on the last friday of every month. Just wondering if anyone Qld 'ers on here take their vee dubs there? What i've been told is that it is open to the public and you just park in the carpark out the front. I heard there are heaps of old skool v8 and hot rods. I'm thinking of taking my bus up there for the next one so was hoping to get a heap of vw's together and show them there?
I know the Big Fish, used to travel past it visiting the outlaws in Noosa. Are you trying for the last Friday in July? I'd be keen, work allowing.

Its not a show, its just a gathering on the last friday of each month, it is more a V8 and old skool crowd, kinda like a new, larger Harry's and its
been goign all year. I took my 59 up last month(may) and got a pretty good reception, there was one other early beetle there aswell. Its at Humble
Pie(where the Big Fish used to be), and the car park gets extremely full early, so parking is an issue. But there is parking out the back and around
the area if you just want to park up for a look.
Friday just passed was very busy, I didn't take a beetle up this time, but will take the oval next month. The police presence was pretty strong this
time, but they seem to only pick on the older noisy cars, or ones that have something poking through the bonnet!
Usually starts about 6pm I believe and is pretty much all over by 9pm, but it gets very, very busy! Cops will probably crack down and do a big bust
soon, but they can't enter the car park as the Pie shop is happy for it to happen, they just wait outside for you to leave.
The police did a similar thing when I was younger and set up a defect station outside a carpark we used to all hang out at. You had to drive through
it to leave. I left my car there overnight!
T54
just go out to the left and down through the servo if you are worried, they only setup if you leave and turn right....simple.
You can't just leave your car overnight, they'll take your rego and if its dodgy enough they'll just come and visit you at home. Last time I got
majorly defected I was going to leave it where I was until they left, but they came through and started taking regoes down to pay you a home visit
They've just advertised it in our local paper as a car show and also calling on all cars etc to come along and show them off. It will be on next on the 27th of this month. I will be on arvo shift but am planing on getting there around the 7.30 mark. So who's keen to show these dudes some nice dubs?
I might run one of the bugs up again.
Its definately not a 'show' as such, it costs nothing to enter, its just a gathering, no trophies, no restrictions on entry, I guess they advertise
it as a show to make it seem more 'ok' in the public eye.
Great night though, I've been getting there around 7:30, bit late I think, it starts really early evening and fizzles about 9pm.
