Now this is cool.....I think?http://shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=44317
just when i thought i'd seen it all.. now, whos ganna try a v12? :|
:jesus
and what happens when you spin a bearing?
I will just drop down to the Tatra shop?
Interesting.......but..............:jesus
Sorry Pete.........to much work.
For what?
Nah......missed the boat on that one
It's a neat mod though. Very
Tatra engines are still made, the aircooled V8 is still in production. Watch the Paris - Dakar race & see the Tatra trucks running.
I purchased new engine bearings for my Tatra from Cz direct over the net.
I think the biggest worry would be all that weight over the rear axle (try to lift a Tatra motor!)
Just when I thought I wasn't going to learn anything new today.
Walah:bounce
As Rove would say "What the". But it's good to see something different.

i have thought of this mod ages ago but now i see it YUK !
way too heavy for any good performance hey
Ivan...:bounce
Yeah not my cup o tea, but nicely executed.
It is interesting to see that somebody actually has done it, & it certainly looks well thought out, I would not be surprised if they also thought about the altered weight distribution & at least partially compensated - here in Australia we would fill the front with firewood to compensate
Most bug owners I know prefer not to delve into the world V8's but i dont think theyre linked with bad images of angry mullets over there in the
Czech Republic.
Anyway, that thing would be frickin loud!
They'd have to use some serious NASA sound proofing sh#t to hear themselves think.
....not
Have a good one!
Josh
koolnow thats a modern mechanic marvel
WOW
apparently its a 2.5L V8 and it only puts out 110hp... makes u wonder why you would bother?

Yes, but its an Air Cooled V8... that's what's different... Tatra had a nice looking (expensive) V8 luxury car about 10 years ago
(approx) looked very nice.. shame they stopped making it... I saw a Citroen Air Cooled 4 cylinder engine in a VW in Total VW... It produced about
100 BHP.. {approx) -- Anyway there wouldn't be enough cool air in Scone on a summers day to keep it cool.... bummer...:thumb:thumb:bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce
