Don't see ice often in Sydney. reminds me of the old days when Dad scrapped the ice of the old Mini on chilly mornings in Canbrrrrra

baybuscamperkid - July 18th, 2007 at 07:46 PM

hehe, looks like goin surfin down here a couple of weeks ago, scraped the ice off the windscreen, wipers got the last little bit and scraped it into a little stack infront of the blade. that stack stayed there for the better part of 1 hour whilst driving without melting. last 2 days have been crazy cold down here, and Ive been working outside! :cussing :bounce :cussing

aussiebaja - July 19th, 2007 at 05:21 PM

pete wood - July 19th, 2007 at 07:39 PM

Our reverse cycle aircon has been on the blink the last 2 days. THis morning I realised why. The core in the outside unit was frozen solid with an INCH of ICE on both sides of it. I've hosed it down and I can see myself doing the same again tomorrow. This has NEVER happened before in the SIX years we've have air con here in Sydney.:sniffle:

So Mick, I'm the president of the "I'm a sook with a heater in my buggy/baja" club! :P

BTW, Jo I hope you did some donuts on that slippery road...

Pete the reason u;ve never seen that before is becuase the condensor has a de-ice thermister in it to stop that happening
all they do is run on normal cycle for a bit to melt the ice
id say ur de-ice probe is knackerd
