mattie182 - May 14th, 2003 at 07:29 PM

Ok all,
Who has the biggest, most equiped shed to work on their VW,

or like me and cramped in a car port

matt

lets hear about wot you got

Warb - May 14th, 2003 at 07:49 PM

carport, nice and cosy,

if "most equiped shed " was at one end of the scale, i'd sit nicely at the other end!.

But hey at least i got a vw, right. :D

Baja Wes - May 14th, 2003 at 07:52 PM

I think Brad's gunna win this game :)

kafer70 - May 14th, 2003 at 07:52 PM

My sheds 6x7.25 and half the size it needs to be. Rider mower , 6 bikes cement mixer etc etc and all my spare parts.
But I wouldn't be without it.:P

manxed69 - May 14th, 2003 at 08:15 PM

My Manx lives is a space that 250mm wider and 1 metre longer than it is. It's OK if your working on the engine or front suspension if you push it back and forwards, but anything from the side is a real bugger.

fish - May 14th, 2003 at 08:21 PM

at least you guys are in a shed. i aint. too much other stuff. cant get any cars in. got to work outside and throw a tarp up.
ahhh the great outdoors.
:cry :cry :cry

Robo - May 14th, 2003 at 08:45 PM

I got a cave under the house, with all my tools and machinery where I hide from the wife & kids, I could fit four bus's in there If the bloody door was higher!

Rob.....

Bizarre - May 14th, 2003 at 08:45 PM

Got a shed - just cant drive to it. Did an extension that crosses into the old driveway :o

Now i just have a great place to store bits :D

Any other stuff is done in the front driveway or on the street.

Other wise - its off to V Force ;). Lucky for me they are just round the corner!

Robo - May 14th, 2003 at 08:48 PM

Hey Fish
The old splitty looks a bit happier there, than it did in the scrub!

Andy - May 14th, 2003 at 09:27 PM

I have two nice garages, but have trouble walking in both, so the poor Kombi lives outside :(
Still contemplating knocking a wall out the house and make good use of the spare bed rooms :D
Just don't let the missus know :o

type82e - May 14th, 2003 at 09:40 PM

I have a raised house at the moment
so can fit about 4 cars/ kombies underneath and a shitload of parts
but in about 8 months were moving to 2.5 acres and I get a 6 car shed woohoo!!!
i'm sick of working in cramped workspaces
having to watch my head
marcel

Buggy Boyz - May 14th, 2003 at 10:04 PM

Well I have a total of 13m x 13m of floor space with a 4.5m roof in the main shed. It is currently looking a little bare but I do have parking for about 20 cars outside of this now. Also have a 2 car carport.
Equipment wise I still have floor and wall space so I am getting soft. I have a few odd tools lying around ( ones DAZ67 and BAJAWES haven't broken yet )and hope to add the 2 post hoist in the not to distant future. Soon I will have the mill and lathe back and once I run 3 phase to it I will even be able to plug it all in again. Then I just need to pich up the 85cfm compressor so I can run the big ass blast cabinet.
Now if only I had the time to use all my toys and space.:cry

volma1 - May 14th, 2003 at 10:23 PM

Have a 9.6mx12.5mx3m shed colourbond, a 6mx6m shed zincalume and dont know the size of the bunker yet as I haven't emptied it since I bought it, solid concrete single car garage with big workshop. The last one came complete with lathes(wood and metal), electric hacksaw, drill presses and usual gear that an engineer would use over a 50+year career.volma1

Dasdubber - May 14th, 2003 at 10:47 PM

Not big enough (is a shed ever too big?) - only a single car garage under the house plus a bit of extra room for compressor, benches etc etc - tighter than I like

Alan

fish - May 15th, 2003 at 05:46 AM

some of these guys live in a heaven like place. a shed, a shed, my kingdom for a huge kickarse shed. fish:bounce

kOMBI KARMA - May 15th, 2003 at 07:09 AM

I have a garage/shed with a pit that could fit 6 kombis in it but alas all it contains is my one Kombi a drum kit and a mower. I dont have many tools as Im of the female sex and unfortunately not too good with mechanics as yet.:cry

squizy - May 15th, 2003 at 07:10 AM

72TWINCAB - May 15th, 2003 at 08:00 AM

I thought I was doing it tough. But, I now realise that I have it pretty good. I have a highset house with parking for 2 cars and a workshop 3M x 5M to keep the tools and parts:D

It's pooring rain in BrisVagus today and my Kombi is under the house snug as a bug in a rug. Lifes Good:thumb

Joke :D

Andy - May 15th, 2003 at 09:23 AM

Well Brad if you want to be like that I should take you out to my Dads. Two sheds, 12m x 40m and 4m x 12m, and more machines than you know what to do with.
Now he's reitred they don't get a lot of use any more. I just need to convince him to let me loose on them (he's very protective of it all). :cry

Starbug - May 15th, 2003 at 12:25 PM

ive got space to fit my bug with about 30cm either side under my flat. its a dirt floor too... it gets very messy! oh what a joy it would be to have a backyard!

Unity-28 - May 15th, 2003 at 12:31 PM

Shed... Whats that!

I wish!

N!:cry

mattie - May 15th, 2003 at 04:25 PM

i cant remember what the inside of my shed looks like its full of beetle parts up to the door!!!:alien

type3kid - May 15th, 2003 at 04:33 PM

mine is two car wide, has enough clearance to work on the side, and can almost fit both my type 3's in long ways. only problem is mum took it over for her business so i've been relegated to under some shadecloth while the other sits under a car cover. i have started accumulating more parts recently and i am starting to win it back. once the new paint goes on, i score a garage attatched to the house. pretty snug fit for the type 3 but keeps it undercover.

56astro - May 15th, 2003 at 07:54 PM

Ours is 7m x 7.5m with a 6m x 7.5m carport out front, and a 7m x 3m BBQ area down the side.

Here is inside, EMPTY

56astro - May 15th, 2003 at 07:56 PM

..... and full (doesn't take much to fill the buggers up eh?)

OvalGlen - May 15th, 2003 at 08:55 PM

I have a Big double garage - so messy , it has only enough room for my Oval.
The big problem is when doing repairs, it takes just as much time finding the parts and tools as the job itself.
One day I'll clean it ( and get rid of the gear my wife stowed in there.) :(

lowdown - May 15th, 2003 at 09:34 PM

too too small, just big enough for the notch, the bbq and a couple of bikes but not big enough to work on the notch in there have to push it out intto the driveway.
